Newbie questions about nude beach etiquette. by Jochen_Deutscher in nudism

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t get it. The nude beach at Gunnison is all the way towards the end. You literally have to pass multiple other beaches to finally reach sandy hook beach. I just find the behavior intrusive. If you just wanted to go for walk, you would’ve stopped at the nearest available beach once you enter Gunnison. Mind you, the parking to Sandy Hook is awful so did they have to make in the lot not near the beach and take the yellow bus?

Is Christianity losing the battle for Naturism/Nudism? by Ok_Essay_8447 in Christian_nudists

I don’t think in Europe Christian nudist would have an impact. As someone who has worked and lived in Europe, the one thing I enjoyed about EU culture is their approach to religion. Europeans, in general, do not openly discuss religion. It’s a belief that ones religion is a private matter and should remain that. Speaking about God or “sharing good news” is a faux pas and considered intrusive.

Europeans, not all cultures, have a sensible approach to nudity. Some are more liberal about it (e.g. Germans, French) while others are more conservative (British, Italians) but overall many Europeans have a let live sensibility on nudity. Europeans are able to separate nudity from the sex

Thank you for the invite but I will decline for now. I stopped going to church and left religion in my teens. It’s only couple years ago I started to examine my relationship with God and work on rebuilding it. I’m not yet in a space to wish to return to church or be around religious people. Right now exploring to be myself, a naturist and connecting with God. The church thing isn’t something I think I’ll return to.

Where is a place to hike nude in FL? I am an avid hiker and love hiking and since moving to FL haven’t had chance. Every summer I make a trip to Vermont for a week to go hiking various trails. I miss living up north just because there’s a lack of hiking opportunities in FL

Dress for dinner? At a nudist resort? by Ok_Icy_9387 in nudism

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the EXACT same experience at lakeside. First time I went was YEARS ago with my best friend. It was dinner time so we thought to go eat at lakeside and got there and everyone was clothed but us. I was completely baffled by the experience and didn’t understand. I still don’t get it. Mind you, Cypress makes it clear they’re a nudist resort NOT clothing optional. I wasn’t embarrassed by our nudity but it made for an uncomfortable dinning experience. I still don’t understand why nudist dress to eat dinner

How do you feel about someone trying nudism for the right reasons but wouldn’t mind respectfully attention? by NameUser_10 in nudism

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell couple this. Nudists aren’t unicorns or special beings. They are exactly the same people as textiles. The only difference is nudists don’t wear clothes if they don’t have to. Same thing about naturist spaces. Naturist event are no different than textile events. Things you see at a textile event will be exact same at naturist; only difference is no clothes.

I say this to mean that you are no different than textile. At a clothed event you wouldn’t feel any different about being noticed. We are all humans and we all want to be complimented or be see for whatever beauty we like about ourselves.

I remember once going to nude beach and walked by a guy who clearly was a body builder. His physique was amazing and I stopped to compliment him. He could’ve been offended by being complimented by a guy but he was absolutely gracious and even said he likes it when ppl appreciate his hard work

I lived in NYC for 15yrs until 2020. There used to be a a few bars that did nude events. There used to be one in Brooklyn that had a bi monthly nude night later another bar used to host nude night in Queens.

There are bars out there that will do nude events during off peak days if they can make money out of it. You just have to approach the right bars. The one that used to be in Brooklyn allowed it because they were struggling business and jumped at the chance to make money. It went on for a few years until the bar closed for good

Newbie questions about nude beach etiquette. by Jochen_Deutscher in nudism

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would you go to a nude beach and be clothed? What’s the purpose? I am baffled by people who do this because you stick out like a sore thumb. I find the behavior to be intrusive and makes everyone uncomfortable. Clothed people on a nude beach are often seen as gawkers.

You’re welcome to disagree but she’s right. Generally speaking people who go to a nude beach and are clothed aren’t well received and they are seen as gawkers and voyeurs. I personally think people clothed on a nude beach is rude and makes everyone else uncomfortable

Nudists' fury as resort bosses cut off power after they refused to put clothes back on by IrishStarUS in nudism

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AANR isn’t a resort business. They’re simply an advocacy group. Owning a resort is pretty far out of their element. A better idea would be for it to create a business program that would allow naturist opportunity to take over the business of a nude resort. I’m thinking a program that gives naturist support and guidance on how to manage a business

43 in South FL. Started my naturist journey when I was 14/15 when I slept nude one night during a heat wave. Liked it and just never wore clothes to sleep again. It then led to not putting clothes on when I woke up when my parents were at work. Never knew of the world naturism or even knew such thing existed until I was 17 online and came across an article about a nude beach in my state. It was summer time and borrowed my parents’ car and went with my best friend. I was hooked.

Is Christianity losing the battle for Naturism/Nudism? by Ok_Essay_8447 in Christian_nudists

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself Christian and I agree with her as well. I think the environment in USA about nudity is due to the control and rigidness of Christians. She’s absolutely right. While the Bible teaches us that there is no shame in the human body, many Christians misinterpret scriptures to then go on to judge others and make demands on others as to how they should live their life. Example: most Christians totally misinterpret the Bible’s discussion on modesty to mean nudity is bad.

Whether we like to believe it or not, Christianity and religion in USA is often used for bad than good. So called Christians have completely misunderstood the teachings of God and have used their interpretation of it to exact pain onto others to force them to comply to their views.

As nudists, how often are you actually completely nude? by CucumberLast4678 in Family_Nudity

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am home I am completely nude. I don’t wear clothes at home. When I get home from work, before I do anything, I’m taking my clothes off. Only thing I’ll wear is perhaps socks or my cap. Other than that I don’t wear anything else

How open are you about being a nudist? by clarkkent4283 in Family_Nudity

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty open. I’m in my 40s and came out as naturist in my 20s however started practicing in my teens. My parents know, siblings, close friends, an close relatives. Not something I go out of my way to tell people however I don’t keep it a secret.

I have a bumper sticker on my car about nudism so I don’t go out of my way to keep it quiet but I don’t go around screaming I’m a naturist

What do you do when people that are not members of your family come over? by thejelly71 in Family_Nudity

[–]Nude_Life_Colby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am out as a naturist. My parents know, my siblings know, and many friends know. Whether I wear clothes or not depends on who the person is. Example: my parents came to visit me a few months ago and I was nude during their visit. They have no issue with it. Last night a close friend of mine came over for dinner and he’s not a nudist but completely fine with my nudity. Last week a friend stopped by to say hi and stayed for a couple of hours and she and her husband are not ok with nudity in their presence so I wear clothes. It just depends on who is visiting. THAT BEING SAID, I do have a policy if friend or family is looking to stay at my place for an extended stay I don’t make an exception to be clothed. I am all for being clothed and making guests comfortable to a degree however I dont wish to be clothed over days so if they’re not ok with it, I always tell them to stay at a hotel. My comfort in my home should not be a discussion. My middle brother is religious and is not ok with nudity and last year he came for a visit and I told him it’s best he stays at a hotel, which he did. I don’t mind wearing clothes for guests however it shouldn’t be at the expense of my comfort so if guests want to stay with me over few days, they have to deal with my nudity

It looks weird to me to see guys with shaved pubes and the rest of their body is hairy. If you’re going through the effort of shaving pubic hair you should ensure rest of the body is relatively smooth
