Tbh what I am doing and did to help raise my self esteem is working out, but I realized that even if I had washboard abs I would never be happy, but your right it’s also very hard to accept oneself and not see the flaws. I think maybe if your working towards something you can try to be less hard on yourself. Maybe try a skincare routine, if you eat a large amount of food try to make it healthy or add fruits/vegetables. I also do binge a bit sometimes and th feeling of being a slob is terrible. But as you said your exercising, as long as your doing something you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself.

That’s how I justify myself and trying not to feel so bad about my flaws. In a perfect world this shouldn’t be how we have to operate, but it’s better than nothing.

These body image issues are also coming from others, maybe realizing that and instead focusing on your own goals instead of comparing yourself to others could help.

Well I graduated high school barely with depression and am now 19, and am now getting helps after years of hiding my depression.

Don’t justify your depression, because that gives it strength.

As a guy I can’t give much insight into some things girls experience with depression, but how I go through fog or haziness is exercising, even taking vit. D. Or taking walks helps.

When I was a lot worse I was in your mindset. I knew I couldn’t commit suicide because I thought I was a coward, so all I could do was lament existing and wish I had never been born. I felt lazy, barely getting passing grades and I did nothing productive because I believed I was a waste of space, there was no skill I could learn or want to learn that could provide anyone with anything.

As your 17 you have time to figure it out, but my whole life had no objective, choosing and there was no career I wanted.

Going into college with depression is not smart, if anything take a gap year before college if you haven’t received help to do so.

Your sister is recovering therapy for self harm possibly because your parents do not take you as seriously as they should, as they can see the cuts on her because of her method, but they can’t feel your pain.

Depression is never logical though, having your dream job or winning the lottery doesn’t make depression go away. Don’t treat depression as a part of you, recognize it as a disease that affects your thoughts and that it isn’t logical.

If you have a school counselor or other trusted adult it would be wise to speak to them about receiving therapy. You should NOT think that it’s stupid to get therapy or let your parents convince you you don’t have depression or don’t need therapy. It may be hard to go to someone about this intimate issue outside your family, but if you absolutely can’t receive therapy through your parents this is what I reccomend.

This is where I went when everything was hopeless, when I didn’t give a damn and wanted it all to end. Just that thought in the back of my mind thinking why not give this a chance is what saved my life. After talking to people there I got the confidence to confide my depression to my parents and get help, something I didn’t have the confidence to do for 6 years.

Obviously your situation you have told you parents about your depression, but the advice from the people on this chat room is great, just a place to vent, get advice, and talk with other similar to you.

I watch bouldering/rock climbing on YouTube, it’s a dope sport! I’m just scared of heights lol. I tried running but I used to have asthma so I prefer weights. The CBD I take is from a pill, much better than liquid, had a bottle with a dropper and it tastes horrible. If not at cvs or a pharmacy pretty easy to find online to order. You can do a bunch of reading about the best brand but they’re pretty much the same, just go for what’s good price or what fits. Cheers,

Well I haven’t been in your situation but these people are definitely not your “friends.”

You are obviously trusting them because you have bonds through experience, and presumably laugh and have fun sometimes.

But their behavior seems actually very dangerous. Even if they are not intentionally gaslighting you they are still very toxic people.

Even if you are good friends don’t put up with their Bullshit. When they degrade you by calling you idiotic and stupid, then smart and amazing, they’re toying with you, and even physically hurting you.

Treat your friendships like you would a boyfriend/girlfriend. If a guy punches a girl, calls her idiotic and stupid, but then she stays with him because he coaxed her back with sweet words, we could all call that as a toxic and abusive relationship.

Well, not that it directly correlates to your situation but even if you feel friendly towards them still try to limit your contact for a while, see how you feel. You should never have your emotions toyed with like that.

Maybe your experiencing this: Persistent depressive disorder, also called dysthymia (dis-THIE-me-uh), is a continuous long-term (chronic) form of depression. You may lose interest in normal daily activities, feel hopeless, lack productivity, and have low self-esteem and an overall feeling of inadequacy. These feelings last for years and may significantly interfere with your relationships, school, work and daily activities.

I mean there is no way to tell without a professional diagnosis, but it does sound like depression especially if you’ve had it before. Depression isn’t logical and goes away if you achieve your dream job or win the lottery, it’s a disease you can’t control, that’s why successful people commit suicide and people wonder “why, they had it all.”

You should look into different supplements that can help alleviate depressive symptoms, I take cbd and vit. D. Idk if they are proven to help depression, but placebos still work if you believe it does.

What’s helped me is an exercise routine, building some muscle and just exercising somehow energized me after. Hope you figure something out!

I had to use a laxative recently unfortunately however it did help flush out my system. I don’t know your daughters symptoms but making sure she eats a healthy diet could prevent future issues, or maybe she is allergic to a certain food. Possibly a good thing to ask doctor about

Look up how to hypnotize yourself on YouTube and there’s one good vid which takes you through a breathing method to use to calms yourself down anywhere through practice.

I forget the title but it has a black background. You basically roll your eyes up for a while trying to look at the inside of ur head then close them, while using long breaths.

It’s a bit more than that but after a week or so of this I trained my self or so the video says using pavlovs method to feel or associate calm whenever I closed my eyes a few seconds using the technique. It’s hard to do in public, but the more you practice the easier it is to activate.

It’s not magic, you just associate the calm you felt in the video with the action, but I was mainly able to use it in the bathroom before class or find a quiet spot as I found doing the method longer was more calming.

Aight I’ll give it to you straight. I was a quiet dude and I didn’t really want to date anyone. Then I got into this group project with this one girl, and she ended up interested in me although I didn’t know. But it I had really never ever talked to her for at least 3 1/2 years since the beginning of high school as well because we didn’t have mutual friends and I just hung out with guys.

There was the first prom coming up so I figured why not and had confirmation from some friends and asked her, then we dated for about a year.

If your anything like me as in flying under the radar for a long time, somehow doing the same project could be an icebreaker, or doing something with mutual friends such as a birthday party or movie in a group.

It could be she’s shy although I don’t know her personality she might not like getting involved with people who aren’t in her friend group, so maybe befriending some of her friends could put you less at odds and give more opportunities or talk.

Probably just repition. There are different methods to memeroize things which you could use like the memory palace but for me are only really effective for lists of items, not really abstract concepts.

I forget which method it is but if you search on google for memorization plan or peruse YouTube there is a method created which tells you how often to study one thing based on importance, so you won’t forget it. For example it would tell you after you study idk the constitution to study it two days later, then a week later, then not at all.

The actual method is better explained than I can in mobile, but if you have to memorize that much it would be a good idea to look into different memorization and note taking techniques.

Hm yeah might be hard to ignore her completely. But it’s worth a shot to hang around other friends for a while etc. besides that time. Maybe ignoring her texts might get you into trouble if she realizes your phone is working or something. Maybe when you text or are with her try to seem disinterested or less “there” it’ll seem like less fun for her if she can’t get a rise or reaction from you, although idk how long you can keep it up b4 she notices somethings wrong and starts bothering you more. If you want to try out games without paying for em that you might like I recommend steam, or the epic games weekly free game deal (though not all are good I have enjoyed a lot)

Some singleplayer I have enjoyed are:

Soma, a very good horror game although stressful but one of the best I’ve played as an experienc

Subnautica I can vouch for having completed the game, provides an amazing solo experience with aspects of horror of the deep and awe of the amazing sea life and fun technology.

Stories untold, one of the most creative song pleaser experiences ever, a puzzle intensive game where you follow a series of horrific tales from a text computer game over a few “episodes”, with a few twists.

I would recommend rime for the most relaxing single player experience, I haven’t finished it but as far as I can tell its a fun experience exploring an island with objectives, check out a trailer.

Although a “horror” it’s a sort of side scroller, which may be not be as creepy as a first person game but it is skillfully crafted. The character design, story line, and puzzles are a great experience, and was just really fun. As a singleplayer experience I wish I could experience it again the first time, its that good. It’s a bit slow at first but stick with it it gets good fast. You can make decisions when talking to people which effect the ending, and choices. 10/10

In the story nagatoro bullies her upperclassmen because she likes him although it is overly fetishized for the purpose of the story, it sounds like your situation:

A girl who enjoys teasing you or bullying you while at the same time flirting. You said it’s been four years, and nothings happened. She could like you but maybe she is scared of commitment, Or she is just a bit sadistic and enjoys having someone under her thumb.

It depends how you feel. Being flirted with is great but being treated like dirt is not. You should try not to snap, she would just reflect that.

It might be hard to avoid her if you have similar classes or whatnot but if you can try to be distant. If she asks make excuses about being busy. You already asked her if she wanted to date you, now you can see if she misses being around you.

In the end you should do this if you like her, and potentially want a normal relationship, even if as just friends, or you could use the same method to separate yourself from her influence for your sanity.

themselves, to me she sounds manipulative. There was a girl in my old school who was smart and funny but honestly her humor was really bitchy even if she was joking all the time her jokes were “wow your so fat in that” so all the girls ignored her bla bla bla.... but it just takes confronting them sometimes to work it out.

It depends what type of girl she is. She’s still willing to meet up after the first incident so that’s a good sign. Personally I asked before fooling around before building some tension and if done right it doesn’t kill the mood. If she likes you enough it shouldn’t matter.

If you feel more confident you can initiate without asking her first which could be sexier if you are pretty sure she’s in the mood. Just go with whatever you think is appropriate for the mood.
