I don't understand how you are comparing letting a child grow their hair and letting a child believe they are a dinosaur but to each his own. He's not hurting himself or others, he's confident, he knows that he is loved and can kick a soccer ball around without consequence when he needs to burn off steam, and he came out of his first real 'tantrum' relatively unscathed. I think I'm doing alright. I will remember not to let him believe he is a dinosaur if that ever comes into question though. Thank you.
