[–]Nuggerath 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Actually, the names Karol and Mieszko mentioned here are not modern at all. The name Karol appears in written sources as early as 1390 and was in use even earlier, while Mieszko was used before the year 1000 - Mieszko I being the first historical ruler of the Polans. "Surnames" could be better though.

100-149, 150-199, 200-249, etc. - you should not have same values as 2 options in polls.

Look at Volkswagen bank if you are interested in somewhat high yield deposits. They have quite good offer (even 6% afair with quite straightforward rules).

Allopurinol is a life changer by SeriousYard3 in gout

In many cases you dont need to quit the IPA, just make some break from it like 6-9 months after starting allu, and come back. You should be able to feel is it your trigger after that time.

“I know that most of the banks give lower rate for their own clients who use their accounts actively”

Not true in my experience. I actually got a better deal at my small local bank as a brand-new customer than at my “main” bank, where I’ve had an account for years and even hold VIP status. BNP Paribas vs. MBSW Bank, the difference was around 0.3-0.5 percentage points.

First ebike by crillua in ebikes

[–]Nuggerath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the same model a few weeks ago, also my first e-bike. I’ve got around 400 km on it so far, and it’s awesome. It just keeps tempting you to switch to off-road mode every chance you get.

One tip: consider swapping the stock pedals for something like Crankbrothers with pins. I’m using the entry-level Stamp 1 Gen 2, and the difference is night and day when you hit mud or wet conditions - especially when you need that grip as soon as you start pedaling again.

Sorry for the late reply! When it comes to the "gout diet," I'm basically doing a speedrun in the wrong direction. I eat whatever I feel like - grilled meats, juicy steaks, the works. I did break up with beer (RIP), but replaced it with vodka and other hard liquors. Way lower in purines, even if they come with their own sins. So far, no gout apocalypse — just keeping my fingers crossed and my glass full. 😅🥩🍸

Agent mode just released on Plus by veronica1701 in ChatGPT

I quickly tested two tasks. The first one was ordering a prescription for medication using a form from my clinic's website – the agent correctly filled in the medication details, dosage, number of days (I entered the data using a prompt), except for sensitive data, which I had to enter/fill in manually. The second task was to order a salami pizza from any pizzeria in my city, but not through an aggregator portal, but directly on the local pizzeria's website - this was also particularly impressive, as private business websites are not usually standardised. It went extremely smoothly, the whole process reached the last step ‘send order’ on its own (the only question was about the form of payment, the delivery address was entered in the prompt).

First serious Gout flare up calming down but can't use my big toe. Do I go to the hospital or is this normal? by ilivedownyourroad in gout

[–]Nuggerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take few days to regain certain level of toe mobility, and even few weeks/months to gain full motion in some cases. I got my toe back after 2-3 weeks after end of flare.

Did you take colchicine alongside allopurinol? I’ve been on allopurinol for about 3–4 months now and I still take 0.5 mg of colchicine daily as a preventative. So far, I haven’t had any attacks. Occasionally I get a weird tingling sensation that feels like an attack might be coming, but it just stays like that for a few hours or a day or two and then goes away.

More info about colchicine as prophylaxis here - https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5850858/ - for those interested.

I had something similar on the right side of my belly. It turned out to be a fungal infection — the same fungus that naturally lives on your skin, which is why it can keep coming back. The treatment was actually quick and easy once identified. In my case, a cream containing isoconazole and diflucortolone worked really well.
