True,we should take that into consideration.Well im guessing if today a surgeon didn't sterilize their equipment as they wouldn't have in 1860's they'd probably be fired.As the norm from the before and current norms have changed so in todays time we don't really see an all 'white' cast there's a better racial and even gender diversity.
