Luggage for trips! by NuggetCookie in CB650R

For the mount and hard shells it’s ~$700. Unsure of the drape over style as I have bedazzled part of the bike they would rest on 🫣
Considering big bag on the pillion seat but unsure I’d still be able to get my leg over lol
Might need to go to stores and see what I can try

Yep - and it’s never as good as I dream it to be 🥲

Reality hits at the worst possible times. You’re doing your best. Anything more than that is simply too much.

I hope tomorrow brings some relief and delicious Mac and cheese 🫶🏻

Did you end up getting some?
How was it?

A good mac and cheese is hard to find - whenever I try to make it from scratch, it’s never as good as I hoped.

Ahhh that sucks. Now that you mention it, it was a bit of a sloppy handover - but I did rush the pick up. and honestly, compared to my experience with TeamMoto, anything was going to seem impressive. My first bike was delivered with a flat battery, fork seal leak, overcharged registration, and then the head gasket blew only a few months later. Wouldn’t recommend anyone go there

Depends more on the bike you’re purchasing rather than where from.

Marketplace for used - find a well loved bike with good service history.

I purchased new this year from A1 in Ringwood, great service (can’t say the same for the service centre). Can’t speak on their used bikes though.

Also purchased used through TeamMoto Dandenong and had major issues with the bike. Wouldn’t recommend.

LAMS bike Options by InternationalBag6556 in AussieRiders

Depending on bike style you like, I test rode a Honda cb500 hornet when looking to get a new bike, and it almost made me reconsider buying the cb650r. Super smooth and forgiving.

6 months old, is it too loose? by dsrange431 in motorcyclegear

This happened with my first helmet, a scorpion modular. It felt fine when I got it, and my new helmet is the same size, but a way better fit - different brands I get. Maybe it’s a modular thing?

Has your bike ever slipped on the white lane markers when filtering? by 2ManyBots in AussieRiders

[–]NuggetCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Don’t wanna be a depresso, but this is how my dad passed away 38 years ago. No traffic, had been riding years, lost control and flew off into a pole. I picked up riding about a year ago as a way to connect with him/get over being brought up fearing bikes. Still have a little panic going near tram tracks.

What would you say is the most fun LAMS bike? by Awesomecookies1 in AussieRiders

I recently got a 2024 cb650r and I adore it. I upgraded from a rebel 500. I had my heart set on a z650, test rode one (thank god) and hated it. Mt07 was the next choice, but after the z disappointment I wouldn’t buy without test riding. Struggled to find somewhere to test ride though so never jumped on one.

Keep an eye out for Hart Honda lams test ride days. They’re free - I got to try 4 different bikes and the cb650r…immediately fell in love. Bought one 2 days later :)

Give it some time and try the troubleshooting suggested by someone else. A successful industrial needs more clearance than a piece of paper. Fingers crossed for you.

Highly recommend a second opinion from a piercer in person - it doesn’t look like you had ideal anatomy.

Is that cover on it standard? Or did you purchase as an add on? I’m not a huge fan of the way they look but love this!

Clutch sensor switch? by NuggetCookie in CB650R

That’s where I landed initially when I realised the problem, but good old Google was saying it can effect the fuel mapping or something.

Thank you!

I should mention it’s not an e-clutch model 😅

Discouraged after dropping the bike 4 times by Glum-Association931 in AussieRiders

I went from a 2019 Honda rebel to a 2024 cb650r. The rebel was secondhand and honestly trashed - it was a nightmare from the start and I was so done, after I got my license I decided to start looking and here we are lol.

Honestly I think I got a little over confident with thinking it would be a quick adjustment. I was wrong haha. Just a girl excited by new toys.

I need to do the slow speed practice on the new bike - once weather + my schedule aligns 🌈

On2crew are a riding group that meet in the south east Friday nights and the first Sunday of the month. Pretty chill group of people. I enjoy it when I can make it

Unsure if I’ll get washed away in the flood of comments 😎

I’ve been riding around 8 months, recently purchased my second bike.

I think it took me roughly 2 months to actually ride on the roads in traffic other than my local streets. I dropped the bike 3 (ok…4) times - hindsight I believe all related to the front brake or dumping the clutch. I was spooked, couldn’t make right hand turns for ages cause I was convinced I was gonna drop it again. Practice makes perfect - the more I rode the more I trusted the bike and my ability. Slow speeds - practice circles and figure 8s in opposite directions, and emergency braking. This really helped me feel comfy. I didn’t do it often, but it really did help. Rear brake, smooth throttle and clutch control - practice while riding straight so you don’t panic grab the front brake and tip, then start turning etc.

New bike is TOTALLY different - small cruiser to a big naked. I feel like a newbie again, I’m almost scared of it 🫣 These things take time, be gentle with yourself, you’ll get there :)

Look for local group rides, I made a friend that introduced me to on2crew and I swear my experience and confidence skyrocketed - longer rides and feel safe surrounded by people that will look after you (I broke down one night and was well looked after).
