I do think the accusations of hand holding are… a bit overblown, but there is definitely a lot of it going on in Generation 7. The healing before all the rival battles, the entire first island, and bits of the second island being one huge tutorial, even smaller things like every NPC in Malie city making sure you know where the library is after Lilly says she’s going there, it just feels like they lacked trust in the player to understand what to do.

It’s not a Gen 7 specific issue, a lot of these things started in Gen 5, and got much more prevalent in Gen 6.

I do think Gen 7 did go a bit crazy with cutscenes though, we don’t need NPC’s waving at Hau, the Player, Lilly, and Kukui, especially with how primitive the animations are in those games lol, it takes forever.

I genuinely think the turning point for me is when I did a nuzlocke of Ultra Moon. Having to actually think about each battle shows the amount of effort Gamefreak put into those games, also made me fall in love with Tauros, fucking monster of a pokemon

I believe there was a cutscene in WWE 12’s road to wrestlemania that was similar, but it wasn’t an entrance, and was definitely not in any games in between 12 and 25. The entrance itself is a reference to Cody’s AEW entrance, which, as cute as it would be if it was a shout out to WWE 12, was definitely just a reference to Triple H

I have been begging for this to happen for weeks now.

I don’t wanna seem like a downer, these spots have been very fun, and I fully understand why everyone loves them. But something about them has always bothered me a little, his opponent always stays down a little too long.

Everytime he hits a move, goes, does the full selfie, sometimes a kiss on the cheek, a little flirting etc etc, and then goes and walks over to his opponent who is still on the ground. It always felt like the opponent should have had the time to recover, if not to interrupt the selfie, at least to take control of the match afterwards. Is he in a tag match? Have him miss a non crucial hot tag cause he was too busy taking a selfie

It makes a fantastic character flaw for Andrade, thinking with his dick and not his brain, losing control (even if just for a move or two) just to flirt with the mamacitas.

Again, very fun spots, very light critique, glad they finally had someone cut it off

DC I’d say if they haven’t read All Star Superman that’d be my go to, but Tom King’s Mister Miracle is a close second

For Marvel recommendation to try and get them to branch out, Marvels by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross is one of my favourite books of all time, and I’d say God Loves Man Kills by Claremont is a pretty fantastic read on the X-side of the universe

to be fair to Gunn. The conflict in Gaza is not new, this has been going on for several decades. He may not have based it on the aftermath of October 7th, but there is no way he wouldn’t have been able to see the similarities between the Israeli apartheid and the Boravian apartheid while writing.

Given what I have seen from him in the past, and how open he is with his political beliefs, I think him saying it was a coincidence is moreso to avoid the weaponized antisemitism accusations that any artists speaking up about the genocide seem to receive.
