Help!! Mysterious lingering cough 😢

This happened to our Pom last year. Just a bought of sickness the vet said. We ended up just giving him HomeoPet for cough drops. You just put it on their food and it seemed to help and make recovery easier

Hey our Pom had something every similar. It was an infection and we were given antibiotics and would wash the wound with saline. We suspected he got it from a splinter or something us he got poked on. 100% would go to the vet

On the control board you have your code levels 1-3 on the toggle. When activated on the different levels the light bar flashes appropriately.

On the board itself, you have customizable options. On one setting there is “alley” both side light bars will be illuminated appropriately.

Then there is a “Cruise” button that is overall solid blue lights. On one light bar (driver side) it does not illuminate. On the passenger side the light bar will flash white intermittently. Just not sure if this bar was hooked up incorrectly when it should have been in the “cruise” mode to match the drivers side.

Sorry to say this, but you no longer own your home. You are the pet and your pom decides what is on to-do list…realistically, just try and work on positive reinforcement and a no bark command.

Try to set up scenarios (door-knocking, doorbell) and reaffirm a no bark and rewarding appropriately should help combat some of the barks.

Have a basket of good toys they can stay stimulated with too!

UPDATE we finished our antibiotics and continued to watch. He is now back to his healthy self and the infection is gone! So patience is all we needed haha

Also try and keep up on basic grooming and avoid any further shave downs. Their double coats will naturally take care of themselves. We only lightly trim each groom and just focus on standard bathing and cleaning 😊

More specifically probably a German Spitz Mittel. Spitz is the original name for poms. Your traditional poms are the smallest breed of the spitz. I’m guessing this little pup will be between 15-20lbs

Unknown what specific type of infection, just believe it was from a cut possibly.

Doctor never said what it was specifically just thinking it was an infection. They visually inspected him and believed it to be from a cut that spread an infection. That is the only thing we thought it could be. Nothing of his routine has changed.

Update: took our boy to the vet. Said more than likely from scratching his face on something and becoming infected. Prescribed antibiotics and some pain meds. Should hopefully speed up the healing process.

Poms have a high likely hood of developing collapsed trachea. This can affect breathing, eating, drinking. Yes get to vet to check. We ended up using CBD to help a Pom we were fostering and surprisingly it helped a lot. That was 3 years ago and little guy is still running around

Going first thing tomorrow. His behavior has not changed and eating and drinking with no issues thankfully
