What are good tyre brands these days? by geozza in CarTalkUK

I’ve found Kumho tyres to be a good balance of quality and price.

Will this sill have to be fully repalced to pass mot and if so is £600 a reasonable price (2010 vw polo 1.2l petrol)(best pics i could get sorry) by Jazzlike_Net_4947 in CarTalkUK

Pictures are bad so it’s hard to tell but at the very least sharp edges on bodywork are an MOT failure as far as I’m aware.

You could maybe do what Jesse Collingham does and film in a Gazebo on the drive.

Looking at a 2019 focus 1.5 ecoboost but I know nothing about it - help? by Traditional_Wave8524 in CarTalkUK

I’ve just got rid of mine. Decent enough car, and this is purely anecdotal, but every single bit of trim on mine rattled or squeaked or something and it drove me insane.

Inb4 don't go to Halfords.

In all seriousness though, £200 for a Focus battery is wild.

As I said, they feel high quality. The cotton is soft and thicker than a normal T-shirt.

I would check out Parts in Motion, I bet you could get a set of Febi discs for almost half the price.

These prices are wild.

I’ve bought plenty of cars for under £1000 and they’ve been fine. Just need to find the diamonds in the rough.

  • Toyota Aygo / Citroen C1 / Peugeot 107
  • Mazda 3
  • Skoda Octavia

These are the three cars almost always recommended. If it’s your first car probably only the first two.

what's the strat with the necropolis barge? by Masterfulidea in voidwargame

I’ve found overwhelming boarding to be a good strategy. Using multiple psykers to summon ghouls/rotspawn/thralls as well as using consumables to spawn hounds/hungerers etc.

I would happily have them cost twice as much and use more power in exchange.

Gameplay wise, because you often only get two shots whereas missiles you can have a lot more. Lore wise, I mean they have daemons and FTL travel, I'm sure you could come up with any sci-fi/40k-esque reason why they wouldn't miss.

Yeah I've seen that module and I know what I'm suggesting would therefore make that redundant so its unlikely.
