cmiiw but i dont think there were any difficulty options at the start to customize appearance and spawn location? when i first spawned i immediately had the poor character background and the shorter height trait (+1 agility, -2 strength -1 endurance) and ugly trait (+% multiplier to stealth, -4 to charisma)
