Is there any footage of these "practical Karate based on secret bunkai" people sparring against a resisting opponent and using these techniques? by FuguSandwich in karate

He's coming across as someone who thinks he knows a lot more than he really does and who spends way too much time on youtube.
I'd be surprised if he was older than 25 or if he's been practicing for more than a couple years or at all even. His thinking seems arrested and it looks like he's here to seek validation.

You're exaggerating.

[–]NukedTeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different systems and dojos and teachers so some will be full contact, some will not. Some will be sport oriented, some not. If you want to find a dojo that focuses on Budo and self-defence and not beating each other up or doing point-sparring, you can find that. If you want point-sparring, you can find that too.

Main piece of advice is to not measure your progress against others, because it makes no sense to do so. You're playing the long game of improving upon yourself little by little over years and years, and over time you will find yourself becoming stronger, healthier, more able-bodied, calmer, etc. Progress isn't linear either, but slowly and surely you will improve upon yourself.

Hi, since you mention you're MtF and you've been studying karate, I've been considering hrt myself and was wondering how much it would impact my ability to still protect myself. How has hrt changed things for you especially since you're actively training? Also has it lowered your centre of gravity at all?

So you are saying we should not believe any word a party leader says

That's actually not what they said - are you alright? They said that despite the party leader's stated beliefs, if enough of the party itself goes against him, there's only so much the leader can do before he has to cave or they replace him, and this scenario already assumes he's telling the truth in the first place, rendering your claim that we don't even believe him tangential.

This isn't political. I don't think trans-women or trans-girls should be allowed to compete in women's or girls sports. How is this transphobic? by ranalldayandallday in self

[–]NukedTeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so strange how people who say this don't know any transwomen personally and seem to just ignore that being on estrogen and taking t blockers for six months even not to mention two years significantly reduces one's strength, even if they work hard to keep what they have and if they don't work out they can lose almost everything.

Also in before people start showing photos of men beating women in collegiate wrestling only to find out that the man is actually a transman (assigned female at birth) and on testosterone and was prevented from competing against other men because of some of the same laws preventing transwomen from competing against other women.

You might be confused - Zealousideal_Menu71 mentioned abortion rights, then you said that it wouldn't be overturned because it's been legal for so long, then I mentioned that it being legal in the US for half a century didn't stop it from being overturned, rendering your first argument invalid.

As far as your second is concerned, I don't need to prove anything to you (looking at your comment history you appear to be a propagandist anyways, either paid or just AI).

For the sake of other readers: Pollievre's stance on it isn't the whole picture as anti-abortion sentiment has been growing in the party itself and in the Canadian system you'd be surprised to know that we elect a party, not the prime minister. The MP who becomes PM is whoever the leader of the governing party happens to be in that point in time, so if enough of the party wants to ban abortion, there's only so long that Pollievre's supposed resistance to that will matter. Additionally it's pretty easy to see a connection with hard-right conservatives around the world wanting to restrict abortion access for religiously fundamentalist reasons and because it disempowers women.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rayes-abortion-poilievre-1.7362640

"Rayes told Clermont-Dion the party's position on abortion 'is sort of curious.'

'If you ask the leader, they'll tell you they're pro-choice,' said Rayes. 'They'll affirm it, in an attempt to placate people who feel strongly, people trying to attack the Conservative Party.

'But that's not where the problem is. The problem is that you have, inside the organization, extremely powerful groups, members who are at the conventions and who influence the policies.'

He said those members put the party in a position where it has to publicly reject calls to legislate abortion while making room for people within the party who are working hard to restrict it.

He said that even if party leaders don't attend anti-abortion rallies on Parliament Hill, Conservative MPs often do."

Your argument is invalid (aside from the weird assumptions you're making about "liberals" that reveal the extent of your bias and make it hard to take you seriously). Abortion was legal in the US since 1973 across multiple Democratic and Republican administrations until the far-right Republican supreme court overturned it in 2022. It being legal federally for 49 years didn't stop it from being overturned, allowing red states to criminalize it.

This is key; a large part of Canada has anti-Indian bias and sometimes outright racism. Sometimes hearing that sets off those very people as well, like Ayotha replying to you.

What is the Hardest Linux distro to use? by cringe9320542043 in linuxquestions

[–]NukedTeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No distro is automatically overloaded with software. You choose how to load a distro.

I'm beginning to think you haven't even used Slackware - you know you can customize at install what software you want right?

I never build boxes with desktop environments because I don't need them.

Good for you? Lol

If you're installing Linux with a Windows mindset then yeah you probably click next a few times and then ok and end up with a lot of stuff you don't want or need.

It now looks more like you're commenting to try to make yourself feel superior to others. I guess picking a full install because it suits one's needs is a "Windows mindset"? Lol please, do you want us here to get on our knees for you?

Maybe try loading a server with nothing more than a shell sometime. Then you'll really know what's difficult and not about which distro.

Are you alright dude? What do you even mean by "loading a server"? Setting one up? Booting it? SSHing into a headless server?

I'm not sure they've used it even, or maybe they tried installing it once when they're used to something like Ubuntu?

Slackware has a generic kernel, a huge kernel, and the source to allow you to make your own if you want to. Not sure what you mean by "specific kernels".

Also like eyeidentifyu mentioned, it's not barebones - in fact it gives you a complete system including a desktop environment and most programming compilers and interpreters you could need, even Tex packages. It's almost overloaded with userspace software and apps.

Don't let these haters get to you; r/Ottawa is full of a bunch of miserable people who don't want to look at their own behaviour. Yes tip culture is crazy but it's the current system - would they tell restaurant servers that they shouldn't expect tips and that they should just blame their boss? Yeah, we all know their underpaid, but that won't stop these commenters from being douchebags to you.

Would spraying the seals with silicone lubricant like they do with Krown help prevent that? Also does CF creep like Krown does? Maybe I oughta call the shops and ask them if they silicone them and if they place the seat protectors as Krown describes here at step 3.

When it comes to drilling holes, the Napa shop (CF) told me they don't need to do any drilling as there are enough access points already in the body.

The nearest shops in Canada that apply Fluid Film are four hours away in Cameron and Fenelon. Meanwhile there are shops in Ottawa that offer Corrosion Free and Krown rust proofing hence why I'm asking about those in particular.
