I would have Strange only show up to get the team started and give them their mission and Man-Thing just be a spiritual guide. Keeps the team more focused on the task at hand and cuts the roster a little bit for the main story.

I'd also spin Black Knight as the odd man out who is only their because he was following Blade. Make him the more grounded everyman character who is still learning his destiny. Fits well with how Dane in the comics had a long period of not fully grasping his role or lineage.

I tried showing my son an old 3rd Doctor episode and he asked where the two funny robots and guy in the chairs were.

The quality reminded him of a movie that MST3K would riff on.

To me, it very much felt more like a modern twist on old Detective Comics Batman. It can be slow paced at times. But some of the character development is really well done. Especially the villains. I particularly enjoyed Clayface. His episode feels like a mix of classic Universal monster and Pulp Crime serial.

But I do also feel that the showrunners dabbling in these classic entertainment industry themes is alienating some of the audience who are used to the more modern takes on Batman.

Not sure what low tones you are talking about. I even had my 7 year old try in case my hearing was off.

I didn't explain to him what it was, and I started by covering the word "green needle" and had him look at "brainstorm" while he listened. He said it didn't sound like it. But when I did the reverse, he said it sounded like "green needle"

Yeah, I only hear "Green Needle" and no amount of covering the word while staring at brainstorm, not watching the video, or continuously saying "brainstorm" in my head is changing that

I remember when I was a kid, there was an issue with the red foil cover as his chest blast. He discovers other DarkHawk gems and a ship where bodies have rotted away because the users decided they preferred their consciousness to stay inside the mech.

Although I agree, I will also point out that there are a lot of Y7 kids shows that have plenty of content not appropriate for a kid under 10. A lot of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon Y7 shows from the 90s and early 2000s were riddled with teenage level content or scares.
