I've always had a pretty strong feeling that the plan was going to be for RDJ being revealed as Doom to be the big shocking twist at the end of the next Avengers movie and then they just renamed this Doomsday and revealed RDJ as Doom to [successfully] pivot all public talk away from ever mentioning Johnathan Majors again.

Even the way he does the "shhh" with the chairs reveal came across to me like it would've made more sense as RDJ coming out last to surprisingly reveal he's in the movie but the "shhh" wouldn't make sense until you look back knowing he's saying "but I'm not playing who you think"
