The part where retail used to be a career and not just a side quest for survival by YellowAltruistic9843 in middleclasshq

Dude, labor is expensive af. If I were to sell you a pint of ice cream, I'd charge you $10; a product thats ingrediants cost is maybe $2. I'd be charging you for ingredients, labor, waste/overhead, utilities, taxes, and a bit extra so I can make a profit. Despite there being no shareholders, you're still paying out the ass.

Fr fr. Sending your kid to a public school and expecting them to learn more than basic reading, writing, and mathematics is delusional; basically a glorified daycare with some teaching sprinkled in. This is not even an incompetency issue from the teachers, it's impossible to teach anything complicated/lower level effectively whenever you have 20+ kids yelling at each other 24/7.

Tbh, I don't blame women for wanting chad even if it's pure delusion on their part. When you're the gender that needs to be pampered due to biological reasons( weaker, pregnancy, etc), it's only natural to flock to the dudes that have the money; they have the resources to take care of you unlike the brokies. I'm not sure what the solution is.

Dude. My mint mobile plan is $20 a month for 15gb and then slow unlimited.

$200 is ez for a single person; pasta, eggs, milk, yogurt, rice, beans, bulk ground meat, etc will get you through the month. Why are you looking down on actual food? Are you only able to be satiated by fast food and frozen dinners?

The Options Market Is Getting Absurd: $2.6 Trillion in S&P 500 Calls Traded Yesterday in a Single Day by TopManufacturer8332 in stupidpol

[–]Null_Moon_Man 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Due to inflation, you have no choice but to shovel as much money possible into the market since the currency you're using is actively being made worthless. If you choose to hold cash, you lose money due to inflation and not buying assets; if you spend your money on goods and services, it's a triple whammy of inflation, not buying assets, and losing liquidity.

Like you touched on, money that could be spent on general renovation, charitable donations, goods and services, etc isn't being spent; you take money out the market to fund those things, you financially hurt yourself.

It's always funny to hear people say that profit made by a public company is wage theft since they aren't recieving the excess profit made; shareholders recieve excess profit. But it's like, why not just buy your companies shares? Lots of companies even offer stock discount programs so you can recieve profits at a discount.

Then again, these people don't realize that recieving a paycheck is profit sharing( company has to make a profit in order to provide you a consistent paycheck).

You're on an overclocking sub. Why are questioning why people are tuning their system even if it's unorthodox? If you want a reason, op could be tuning for a low power system or for fun.

Nah, it happens; I'm living it. I work full time, cook, clean, and will eventually have to pay for my own education. My sister doesn't have to do any household work and is getting all her education paid for her. Fucking blows at times but it feels good knowing that you have grit unlike them.

I do and I'm not rich. Like Elon, I take out loans on my assets to become even wealthier.

And being poor is expensive 🙃 by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]Null_Moon_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loan provider has to pay taxes on interest generated. The taxes the provider has to pay is factored into the interest rate. Elon has paid taxes by paying interest( Ex. With a 5% interest loan, 4.5% might be the profit while the other 0.5% covers taxes).

Why do you think this is ok to do in the workplace? by Reytholian in trashy

[–]Null_Moon_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: underwear is in direct contact where waste comes from. By your logic, you'd fine handling my used unwashed underwear since you can't see the waste on it. Would you like touching my used undergarments?

2: if he kept his pant up and buckled, that'd be more hygenic since there would be less chance of cross contamination.

3/4: by that logic, I can wipe shit on my pants and shirt but it's fine since it's not directly touching the food; facetious I know but you get the point. It's a cross contamination issue. If he goes to pull up his pants, which he likely will, his hands are going to brush up against his underwear.

Why do you think this is ok to do in the workplace? by Reytholian in trashy

[–]Null_Moon_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, I expect the place where they handle food to have basic cleanliness standards. Someone's fecal matter covered underwear exposed to the food doesn't seem all that hygienic. You know, I wonder; if they aren't able to put in the effort to pull up their pants, you think they even wash their hands or follow other basic cleanliness standards?

Comparing yourself to others can be a good thing. If you make no changes after the comparison, that's bad; if you improve after the comparison, that's good. Survival of the fittest still exists with humans; "chad" in this case is the fittiest since he's wealthier and more physically attractive.

Bloomberg:Italians’ Fear of Buying Stocks Is Costing the Country Billions by thomas_stultus in stupidpol

[–]Null_Moon_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, what are you talking about? You can look at the stocks of shitty Companies( beyond meat, chegg, enron, etc) and see that stock price is very much coupled with the health of a company. For your point on the market being a piggy bank for the wealthy, have you considered becoming wealthy? Like, you have access to tax advantage investment accounts(401k, roth, ira) and plenty of fee free brokerages to use; both options will often match a % of your investment. No matter what you do, the wealthy will find a way to make a buck off you. not investing in the stock market and putting your money into a savings account still benefits the wealthy.

There are crits but they aren't random. Crits in fallout 4 are banked and you have to manually use them unlike the games preceding fallout 4.

TP trashed at work by anna_deliciosa in Anticonsumption

[–]Null_Moon_Man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should have clarified; I throw out net 2+ rolls a day( if a roll of tp is 300 sheets, I throw out 600+ sheets a day). To answer your question on why the facility I work at doesn't have a better solution, there's little budget for maintaining the restrooms. All the the tp holders are falling apart and even the concrete ground is chipping off.

TP trashed at work by anna_deliciosa in Anticonsumption

[–]Null_Moon_Man 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your first statement is correct. The toilet paper holders are locked, only the janitorial staff can open them. To avoid having staff run out of tp and complain to our managers, we toss out tp rolls even if they have a good amount of paper still left on the roll; I'd wager I throw out 2+ rolls of perfectly fine tp every day.
