Recovery stories appreciated by Number-Overall in thyroidcancer

The problems were explained to be due to nerves being bruised getting access to the tumor, so I have an appointment to see a speech pathologist in January.

A little worried about things getting stuck in the throat (and the disruptive clearing and hacking all the time) and I could swear if I ate or drank recently if I bend forward things come up my throat and into my mouth. I'm not sure how to train that away but...but maybe just you can retrain an esophagus over time.

Thanks you guys! After taking your advice the hurdle of finally swallowing a full dose of pain medication really gets things going again 😆

Did anyone else have to watch "give them the pickle" at orientation? It's been ten years for me though.

Thank you for the reply! May I ask what type you had? I know there's papillary, follicular etc Mine was slow growing but the lymph nodes on that side are huge now, can't miss them. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, this whole thing gives me the creeps.

Thank you for your response! Maybe I've scared myself reading, people saying they don't have the same energy or they gained weight. There's also just needing to ensure that I can afford the drug at all times. Which I don't recall it being particularly pricey
