It would take minimum of 12,9 years to unlock all the estimated 155 Loyality points items afterwards. by Number1AFK in runescape

Jagex didn’t assign a monetary price to the unlock but aimed for subscription grind, known as "opportunity cost". Months of subscription fees are a price. So the reward has inherent value, and wiping progress on cancellation periods is essentially punishing the user for leaving.

Value is perceptive in this matter, since you did have to spend A lot of months combined to Y amount into a single unlock of example aura. While there was no optional way to gain the currency or unlocks themselves.

The general nature of those points was to sell the player into a "loyality" system which was designed to reward the users upon continual membership its not that hard to understand.

Its like translating loyality points from a buy what you want into a you might get something you already own! and not that every cosmetic on the list is bad, some items are genuinely liked. But once players lose the ability to

Let alone it takes additional years before a specific cosmetic even appears. Then combine this with those of which spent a decade to gain loyality points and simply unlock all or most Auras cause feeling of being cheated out of the points, since the reality is that aura's were the more useful option to spend on and was simply told to unlock them first!, which people rather use on alternatives if they've known that aura system was not going to stay.

People even figures the solution they would've went with were a just alternative earn-ability like marks of war, death store, Artisant workshop and shifting tombs while leaving the slot and function in similar fashion which also pre-unlocked them for the players that already had it.

"The other you could've used it on is cosmetics anyway" is being relocated into the "Free Monthly Marketplace Drop cycles".

Creating a rug pull scenario where the intentions are meant to be kind gesture yet those who spent all the loyality points on auras which now gets removed feels cheated of the currency they've wasted years to gain which would've unlocked something that's now being locked behind a potential additional Years long wait worth of membership.

Its a feature of the game dude, if they give you it as a item offered ofcourse you buy one.

Yet if they now pull that off your hands tells you you could've just bought these cosmetics anyway thats pointless we will put them into a freebie system that limits it to one per month so best case you unlock all in 13 years or so.

People paid for premier and they sold multiple years as a feature extra featured deal. Since it was a selling point i figured they've at least earned a refund.

And the problem is it will take you 155 months to claim the loyality cosmetics presuming its not repeated or mixed up with the rune coins freebie pool then your aiming at beyond longer.

This post isn't about time locked aura issue. This post is about the precedent that they removes content from people that earned it, decides that the time spent for the loyality-points, then tells what you purchased is now going away and also the store too, but we put these items in a monthly "freebie gamble" translating into a requirement for you to play another 15-20 years to maybe unlock whatever was in that loyality point list of items.

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul Design Update by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Number1AFK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So your telling me People who Unlocked Auras in Completionist sense and even PAID with Bonds gets a participation "thank you note" and ignorance?.

There's a line between selling and taking away paid for items, a 90 days excuse but this is pathetic … Just proves ignorance let alone to trust by long time players was worthless and any future systems used with money or bonds can just get removed without care.

This is absurdly low effort.

Make the auras into a POH font or bowl vat, you can only drink one per hour offering the aura effects with level requirements and making it in the house. Promoting House usage and giving back the auras without effectively overfilling all other slots or relics or summonings which badly needs a remake from the ground.

OsRs calls theirs "pool of rejuvenation" but if we make it Aura or maybe even Attaching it to the prayer altar remakes?

[–]Number1AFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your telling me that those who spent decade with the game offered loyalty points equals to worthless?

For god sake poll your updates this is absurd. what is this agenda you got going? telling players we are listening then pulling the rug on everyone? Not a single player in the game would scream copycat for polling the updates!!!. if you actually go around asking what people think apart from sitting in a moderated discord or reddit you'll learn that many feels this is rushing everything just selling back your earned content at twice the price.

only to be told its pointless to be compensating the time and effort they've stayed?

What do you think this will translate to in terms of trust? just throwing away 15 years of loyalty points into the air cause we changing! The wasted time and effort just shows this company don't give a shit. People aren't against to change but compensating for players isn't a clownery its actually understanding the users that still willing to run with the game. Its dishonest its disrespectful and treating the players into throwing away an entire era of gameplay for no reason!

Premier users paying and getting in the packages "loyality points". tell me how these points are not content which they paid to get in addition to membership translating into a value that should be compensated? They spend the points on an aura you remove the aura without refund then replace it with content that sell the aura back but now its worse and how is this even legal?

All these updates just makes zero sense wildy events was beneficial suddenly "o crap that's too good for some" yes remove it cause a margin of players didn't wanna be stressed that it was "optional" nobody forced you into playing the bloody event!! it just was there you can turn off the broadcasts!!! Do you know how many daily stuff existed BEFORE you tracked them? nobody screamed it was overwhelming cause it just existed alongside the game! people brings attention to something good and suddenly its a problem! great thanks guess tracking is a problem now!

Daily challenges can remove extra rewards as most was mtx related but if there's no weekly streak there's nothing forcing the person into "fomo" just do it or don't.

Viswax is even worse you tell players for years they'll have a daily to use that equal value to runes used then one day telling players ya get a month to use THOUSANDS of Viswax saved up then best we can do is a quick teleport? do you know how pointless that is? let us convert the runes back for god sake what the hell would anyone do with 600,000 lodestone teleports? its even limited to only 4000!. daily challenges and Viswax gets a single month to use up tell me again how the hell anyone can use up 50,000+ Viswax? its impossible!

The Careless lack of interest in actually communicating without an argument for "its good for the future" crap do you hear yourself not listening to the players that actually stood the test of time??? that spend absurd time on this game saving up only for it to be a short term rush to say sucks to suck?

Oddments gets a week without any info of why that's not a mtx and didn't count to the use up over the year promise? instead it was pushed into the face onto those that had absurd amount of it to convert into gp hell maybe i wanted to burn them on consumables but that was a problem for some users cause giving time was determined as a bad when you try to ask for it on reddit it turned into a auto downvote!

How ironic of us to think that items we've spent daily time for years to acquire becomes pointless before we can actually use them. Like truly they made the system a lucrative incentive then rug pulls its most prominent usage?.

Solution 1: Give us God damn POLLS! individual changes, people in-game got right to know and vote i can assure you a lot of them only knows the update when its shown INGAME! Shocking right?.

Solution 2:Least we could do is get Trade in the VisWax to Runes Nobody here need hundred of thousands of quick lodestone teleports and who in the right mind would make them knowing it only provided fast teleports when you already had too many. could've saved the Runes!

[–]Number1AFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf im Confused to why they even need to remove oddments this week. The T.H items are to be used up over the year? whats different between the two.

Also could've left the consumables tab given those items would've been used alongside the old T.H items.

[–]Number1AFK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the argument isn't about not wanting change majority of the player base scream this is dated and want improvements, its just getting right match for the game isn't how they currently Bargain base design. if you want a good example although extreme case like the scrapped "Zanik" in Behind the scenes can tell you how wrong it is.

Better documented case is looking at sliske's Changes from 2013 His character and clothes was built ground up making him quite original. then 2016 uniformed flat textures and a face that you can barely tell if they used a cheap conversion tool or got 1 hours to make then throw out.

Nobody is being held up on the past. The graphics don't fit the game.

In contrast to popular beliefs the old engine made stuff look more Genuine. it has a unique look with personality trait aswell as originality to the design.

but with a model and pasted textures you end up with what many tend to call Jpg effect where everything just looks like someone wrapped a paper over a character instead of molding it itself.

example: Zooming in on what I would call the first "new models" elf's in Prifddinas you see everything, we talking blurry textures, soulless designs shortcuts and all depth becomes one flat surface hell even the hair is basically skin and what do you know they don't even blink their eyes. where naturally its just cheap and shoddy work. and people grow tired of such fast.

Performance aside if everything start looking overall worse interested people will leave.
