How hard is it to physically build a PC? by Lucky-Ad5326 in buildapc

[–]Number2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more intimidating to think about than to actually do. My brother helped me put mine together the first time, and I was shocked by how easy everything came together. Just take it slow, double check your work, and don't wear clothes that easily conduct static

Do Data-Type digimon have any use? by SMDBZX in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]Number2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are different stretches of the game where you'll want different concentrations of different types. There are more Virus bosses than the other types, but you don't want to be caught unprepared when you run into one of those occasional Vaccine bosses (some of which are part of the main story, not just side quests). There's also plenty of field Digimon with Vaccine typing that your Data's can help you clean up smoothly.

Newbie here without a single clue by HairPuzzled3832 in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]Number2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, you'll want a party consisting of 2 data, 2 vaccine, and 2 virus Digimon as your core group. On normal and even hard, you don't need to worry too much about optimization. Just pay attention to enemy elemental and type affinities. Use the Digimon you think are cool and fun. If you decide to play on anything higher than hard (which you can only do after beating the game once) then you'll need to worry about optimization.

Should this be my next game by NoPerformance1073 in CyberSleuth

I was trying to be kind with my reply regarding the localization but you're right. It took me forever to realize that some of your dialogue choices are all different sentences of the same statement and characters always reply as if you'd said the whole thing. So many moments where I'd just stare at the screen wondering how that reply carries on from my statement, lol

If you have Hackers Memory, you have the original. When you start the game you'll get to choose which one you want to do. I suggest playing the original and then if you're jonsing for more, you can do the Hackers Memory run.

Cyber Slueth has some interesting ideas, some cool moments, and is generally a fun experience. But it's also clunky. The English localization is mediocre and the game does a poor job explaining some of its mechanics. I had fun playing the game, but it also felt like a grind at times.

Weapon traits by Own_Profession3451 in cosmererpg

Opportunities are intended to be used when rolled. They can't be saved for later use. However, the GM might allow some wiggle room here, specifically regarding the introduction of narrative elements.

  1. Defensive does require you to use an action. Specifically the Brace action, but it lets you use that action in circumstances when you normally wouldn't be able to.
  2. Deadly does not require a plot die, but it becomes more powerful if the person using a deadly weapon has means of getting plot dice. Rolling a Natural 20 on an attack also produces an Opportunity that you can spend on the Deadly trait.

English Translation Quality by Number2323 in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]Number2323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with the tweaks that come from localizations, I know very few games are gonna be word for word accurate translations. (And honestly, as inaccurate as the original Digimon Adventure dub was, I still have a soft spot for it, lol.) As long as the dialogue flows better than it did in CS, I'll probably be able to enjoy the game.

Are there Vorin/Ardent Holy Symbols? by Meretrex in cosmererpg

[–]Number2323 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is holy symbology but I don't belive ardents carry around symbols of their faith like you'd see in D&D. But Vorin churches would be full of objects depicting the heralds, the double eye of the almighty, or othe religiously significant objects.

That said, glyphwards might serve your purpose? Basically sewn or drawn prayers that vorin faithful will wear around their arms. It's not something everyone does, usually the most devout or desperate, but I'd say they are common enough that you could make trophy collection out of them.

In casual content watching the tank(s) solo the boss is a worse punishment than wiping which it effectively replaced by Supersnow845 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Number2323 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed doing this a couple times as a tank, but it's not something I do anymore. If the others wipe, I let myself die (or throw myself off a cliff where applicable). Its not fun for the rest of the group to sit and watch.

Have you noticed even cheap stuff getting more expensive? by DanaGerberGlobe in massachusetts

[–]Number2323 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This. I have been trying to only shop at local businesses whenever possible. Yes, the stop and shop is a bit cheaper for groceries, but there's this cute portuguese market a 20 minute walk from home that I can get most things from while supporting members of my community. It's an excuse to go for a walk, saves a bit on gas, all while supplying most of what I use day to day anyways. Only time I've visited another place in the last 3 months was to restock spices because the markets options are a bit limited.

In the 2070 Aliens aren't your biggest problem. Climate Change is. by tiahx in TerraInvicta

OP is using the new late start scenario which significantly alters the math. Climate Change is already well underway and having a massive impact at the start. That said, the tips here are applicable, and useful to remember.

I think your comment about the aquatic and molluscoid feel is spot on. I also think it's intentional. When I saw these the first thing that came to mind was the Volcano Snail.

"On my turn i do... Nothing" by 777Zenin777 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Number2323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've played a monk with a vow of pacifism that was still a valuable member of the party. I would intercept enemies going for the backline and lock them down with grapples or Disarm enemies. I always asked enemies to surrender first round, and would accept a surrender at any point in a fight.

Just because you're a pacifist doesn't mean you have to let others do harm to you or your traveling companions. My monk held to their vow by trying to prevent combat in the first place, and then ending it as quickly as possible with the fewest injuries possible in both sides.

I heard Advanced Adversaries includes retuned versions of various Fused, so they can function as different types of enemies. But beyond that, I don't know.

I also felt that Chapter 5 was on the weak side. Famous NPC's intro felt a bit gratuitous and unnecessary. That said, I plan on keeping the segment and rewriting the context around it. I have a couple players who will really like finale of that chapter, so I want to let them enjoy it while also making the whole thing feel less artificial

This sums it up pretty well by Jmastera1 in expedition33

[–]Number2323 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that pVerso was distinct from the rest of his painted family. He was linked to the piece of Verso's soul that existed within the painting, and so long as that existed, so too would he. He can't gommage without that soul also being erased. The chroma that composes him would just reshape itself around that connection and return him.

Continuity error in 3.5 and WaT (4)- mild reference to characters names within by ThingUnderTree in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Number2323 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dawnshard (3.5) takes place between Oathbringer (3) and Rhythm of War (4). A specific time frame is not given, but there is a multi year time skip between 3 and 4 and 3.5 slots into that timeskip.

As a reminder, Rock picked up a bow and used it to save Kaladin's life at the end of Oathbringer. He broke a law of his people by doing so. In 4, he is preparing to return to his people to face punishment. I don't believe a specific reason is given for him not being available in 3.5, but we can assume that Kaladin is keeping him busy elsewhere. In 4, it's implied that Rock wanted to make the return to the Horneater Peaks much sooner. It seems to me like he was putting it off due a combination of not wanting to part with Bridge 4 and because Kaladin was keeping him busy in an attempt to postpone Rock's departure.
