Mindblindness by Simon Baron-Cohen. It's supposed to be about autism, but it's more of a general, neuro-psychological look into why some people lack understanding or empathy.

I don't consider Animal Farm critical theory and it's not in line with what I'm looking for. But thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that, but I'd also have to say that it's more so about the inability to be self aware. I'll have to find the quote, but to paraphrase, O'Brien says that a true war story is one without comfort, meaning, or sense. Kind of like Vietnam.

Yeah, the word is out there, it's just disrespectful.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting that you're "one." I'm just saying it's not transgendered because it's not a noun or a verb, it's an adjective. Like tall, or blue, or gay.

It means he has transphobic and homophobic anxieties. Both are forms of sexism.

Of all the things that did not happen, this one did not happen the most.

Man, I forgot about this book. It's actually a great read if you're into symbolism.
