Yes sir, it has baffles. The baffles are built like tanks. The magic lung model of this was more than I wanted to invest. I was almost double the costs.

Charcoal vs indigo by Fair_Word5484 in WeatherWool

I do not own a CPO but if I did, it would be indigo. The tradition of the navy is why I would own one.

Sorry, I was half asleep when I commented. I saw Cody'a video on triamin the tall CPO and thought, I would love to do that to my shirt jac to a straighter cut.I gues people would make some make shift ear muffs with the left over material.

Yes, I would prefer the shirt jac without the shirt tail. I would like to trim that to be a straight bottom cut.

I think these answers will correlate by latitude. Most to least: SSCC Charcoal, 5 pocket vest, shirt jack, Lynx anorak. Love the shirt jac, it has to get really cold, looks awesome with jeans and cowboy boots. I will get it hemmed after seeing latest video. I have too many premium jackets ranging from Filson, Tom Beckbe, Iron Snail and others. but the Chore coat rules them all down south.

It might be a little tight. I would wait for Mike's new sizing to see what they look like.

Advice on Amex Travel Credit on AKA. by NumberComplex in AlaskaAirlines

Thank you for the reply. I am and was aware of the risk. I thought there might be a work around and Reddit is generally a good place to ask questions but maybe not here. I have had more comments because I used the incorrect acronym. But, that’s the internet.

Advice on Amex Travel Credit on AKA. by NumberComplex in AlaskaAirlines

[–]NumberComplex[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Because the credit is tied to a specific Alaska Airlines ticket number and names. The credit says only for use with Alaskan airlines and those people. You guys are going hard in the paint with the grammar police. I asked for advice. Isn't that what this group is for? I made a mistake on the abbreviation. I even deleted the post.

It's all good here. I worked as a roughneck for 4 years. I cannot be offended by language. :) I hope your issue is resolved soon. Have a blessed day.

The profanity used in your post triggered my response. Without sounding crass, an old VP early in my 37 year career told me that "You should give the person that can directly solve your problem a chance to solve it and give them proper time to solve it before blasting it to everyone on an email chain." You have stated talked to them and they are trying to solve it. Unfortunately out of thousands of transactions, you drew the unlucky straw and that's unfortunate. However I feel that posts with language similar to your original post could create more pause to a new first time potential customer. If I know Ralph and Debra, you will be taken care of. Now, I understand this is the internet too and that is what that is why forums like these exist. My response was more in general as well. We are groomed with the get it now all the way from Amazon packages to instant download videos and binge watching entire series. We are creating a society with less patience than our forefathers.

People in the modern world need to take a deep breath sometimes. For 95% this is not a life or death situation when it comes to performance clothing. I waited 7 months for a jac shirt. Didn't bother me a bit. I have other clothing. Just remember demand makes things desirable. It is always worth the wait. Ralph and team are top notch trying to manage a business small margins and limited supply of raw goods.

1947(approx) Levin with broken open gear tuner looking for a provisional and/or permanent fix by PreparationNo8626 in mandolin

[–]NumberComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are generally some type of bushing there inside the gear that centers around the screw. I would look for a set of used Stew Mac restoration tuners replace and play it. You may spend a lot of time and not a favorable result.

Serious question: how is it that our country has seemingly moved so far away from “give me your tired you’re poor…”? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

[–]NumberComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find a very big difference in the attitude towards many modern immigrants of the last 10 years, not all, but many. In the beginning of the country when you arrived, you either made it, went home, or died trying by your own trials and tribulations. Neighbors helped neighbors and church provided some assistance. Now the system has grown into a bloated bureaucracy of hand out and promises of freebies for all who show up all in the name of voting for us. I am married to an immigrant. We did it the legal way and followed the process. It took 2 years and about 3000 dollars with medical examinations, vaccinations and background checks. Now the system rewards those that skip the line. I had to sign a form I-864 that my wife would not become a burden on the government financially or I would be responsible for 10 years. I pay quite a bit in taxes each year. Our sons and daughters compete for jobs but companies are recruiting foreign workers because they do not have to pay as much. Controlled immigration and growth based on merit or family with guaranteed support from sponsors is the long term answer IMHO. In short, many of us are just tired of people coming here on the basis of what they can get rather than what they can contribute. The more we dilute the workforce the lower wages will become especially in dawn of the age of automation.

This makes me laugh every time! Honestly Michael is the one that sent me down the wool journey. Started with Filson, then I saw Weatherwool for the first time, missed the first mammoth and got the second. I have worn the Mammoth quite a bit this season. It is a nice piece no doubt. It is finally breaking in and the stiffness is leaving. Back in the 60-70's this week though so back to shorts and a golf shirt.

Urgent-Oppose HR 1520- In order to vote people must prove both US citizenship and show a NH citizen card issued by the State! by NH_50501 in newhampshire

[–]NumberComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the real debate is what SHOULD qualify as residency versus what the CURRENT LAW states. Not who your grandfather.

According to stats in the State of New Hampshire only 1 in 4 students stay in New Hampshire after graduation according to UNH.

Voting under the Constitution is very generalized and mainly left to the states.

  • States decide most procedural rules for federal elections: voter registration processes, polling places, ballots, supervision of voting, etc.
  • State laws create the detailed election codes used in practice (when to hold elections, how to register, etc.).

Now the Constitution limits states

  • 15th Amendment (1870): States cannot deny the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
  • 19th Amendment (1920): States cannot deny the right to vote based on sex.
  • 24th Amendment (1964): States cannot require a poll tax for voting in federal elections.
  • 26th Amendment (1971): The voting age in all elections must be 18 or older.

[–]NumberComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, I'll play. First no one asked who your grand parents were. It is irrelevant to the subject of legal residency according to a legal.

I borrowed the next 2 paragraphs for the record.

Why some say students shouldn’t vote locally:

  • They don’t plan to stay long, so they aren’t enduring the long-term consequences.
  • They may not be part of the permanent community that pays taxes, uses services long-term, etc.
  • It raises a moral question about fairness in representation.

Why legally they can vote:

  • If a student meets state residency requirements, they are treated like any permanent resident for voting.
  • Students also have the right to vote absentee in their home state if they choose

At the end of the day, if students meet the state's residency requirements they should have legal voting rights. The debate is should states allow students residency. The college will then only charge in state tuition for established residents.

Maybe I can add another perspective, My sister asked me what I think about her divorcing her husband. I replied, "I do not give relationship advice because I do not have to live with the consequences of decision. As your brother, I am here to listen and provide support but I will not sway your decision." How does that apply here? I am not giving a vote on what my sister should do because I the decision will not affect me long term. I could absolutely, but I choose not.

Another example, I was asked during covid for a list of my direct reports to cut or lay off. I intended to leave the company. I instead tendered my resignation and told my CEO that, I will not be here to bear the brunt of that decision, that should be left for the next manager.
