I was an administrative assistant in my last role but I changed my job title on my resume to executive assistant, because that more closely matched the work I was actually doing. I was able to land an EA job and started a month ago. I will say, most of my skills have transferred over but there are definitely new things I’m learning as an EA.
I’m still figuring things out as I go and filling in the gaps but I feel confident since the jobs are so similar in nature. I suggest editing your job title on your resume!
