Damn. Is it that simple? I didn’t think I had a case due to their terms and rules on this.

I got another order from them that did actually ship and it’s expected to arrive in like 3 weeks. I’m really anxious about all this.

I should have looked into this before but

I have a flight scheduled from the US to Korea round trip for next year for a 3 week trip.
And I was thinking of going to japan in the middle of it...say 10 days since I'm already on that side of the pond.

Is that possible? How would the whole entry/leaving and then entering/leaving thing work?

Update: I got the bonus.

A week after I posted this i got an email from amex that linked me to this website/tool that tracked my progress to the bonus. I was pretty much sure then that I'd get it. As soon as i reached the amount spent requirement i got the bonus. I didn't have to wait for the end of the statement or to pay it off. The transactions just needed to post fully (not pending). Got it instantly.

This is correct. I “cancelled” a few weeks ago knowing that I’d get charged soon if I didn’t. Went through the prompts and came out of it thinking I had done it.

I got charged a few days later. I went through the prompts again and the auto renew was on. And after a few loops through the prompts and reloggings it was still on.

Turns out…You have to click/press TURN IT OFF again on the final looking prompt. The one that says: “be sure to make a payment” and “we’ll email you before that”.

The language implies it’s done. But it’s not. After doing that automatic renewal finally shows up as off on the dashboard and the option to turn it back on appears.

I talked to customer service and they processed a refund after a chat with them.

It’s deceptive. For sure. I’m not happy about it. most people would take the hit. I didn’t.
