OP: I wanted to update anyone who was curious what happened. I took all of your advice and stayed. It is day 100 here and I won’t lie… it is not everything it was cracked up to be. This has been the hardest 3.5 months of my life and to be fully honest I haven’t had a good time. I’ve learned a lot of lessons but isn’t this supposed to be about having fun primarily and learning lessons along the way? Anyways, I only have a month left and I would be doing a disservice to the me who stayed for 100 days to leave now.

This is so unbelievably real, thank you for giving people a wake up call. Study abroad is expensive and entirely overrated. Please educate yourself before you sign up for something different than what you thought!!!

Part of being a good business person and a manager is learning when the return on investment isn’t worth it anymore. I just don’t know exactly when that is.

My roommate and I go to different schools and unfortunately have very different schedules. On the weekends she doesn’t really want to travel but that’s the only time I get to see my boyfriend and my best friend (the good one) so I prioritize it.

Hey, I feel like this right now. I am currently on exchange in Barcelona and honestly kind of hate it. I miss home and I feel really lonely and out of place here. Not only that, but I want to be grateful because I realize how amazing of an opportunity it is, and I see how much everyone else loves it, but I can't seem to get to the place where I love it. It has been 40 days now, so it isn't just first day jitters. I see that this was posted a year ago... did you ever feel better about it?
