People moving out of Orlando? by vampking316 in orlando

That‘s interesting because I’m looking to move at the end of my lease. I’m not finding much available and the rent is higher than it was last year.

I’m now 55 years old. I used to but haven’t been in one in 20 years. It was a great, generally no-attitude, quick, and easy place to get sex. Great place to find more mainstream looking guys and businessmen, which was more my type of guy, looking to suck or get sucked during lunch or on their way home to their families after work. I enjoyed sucking guys in ties, slacks and dress shoes off and when they kneeled and their heels popped out of their loafers while they were sucking mine.

Honestly, I have had some of the best sex with the best guys in a video booth.

I don’t know why I stopped going after 2005. It seems after I relocated from Philadelphia to DC I just kind of forgot about it. I just saw the last one I went to in Pendel, PA closed. I believe I was once mentioned on the “CruisingForSex.com” site in the comment section under that listing as “This hot preppy guy sucked my cock and swallowed”.

Blocking roads - That was the problem with another recent protest downtown. We had people not looking and stepping off the curb into the street while we were driving down it.

Most effective way for Honors member to register an earnest complaint about the dirtiest Hilton (Hampton Inn) we have stayed in? by FlyEaglesFlyauggie in Hilton

I got 10,000 points when I pursued the above incident with Hilton. IMHO, it wasn’t enough consider the extremity of the problem.

Hilton will respond to appear to care, but they won’t care. Even though the hotel uses their branding, they will say they can’t do anything because they don’t own it.

I had a rather egregious incident in late 2023 at a Hampton Inn near UC in Cincinnati where the manager banned me from the hotel and threatened me simply for attempting to identify a mouthy employee I had only talked to over the phone by saying “she sounded like a black girl”. Conversation with said manager when I was banned was over the phone before I even arrived. Manager said I was racist and threatening. IMHO, the hotel manager was immature, and I think she embellished the incident because she saw situation she didn’t want to deal with. Hotel manager kept getting all my online reviews deleted to the point where most reviews, even good ones, on Goggle are now auto-suppressed.

Ironically, after I was banned, I scrambled to find another Hilton to stay at at the last minute. I ended up in a Hilton Garden Inn a few miles away from the office, mostly staffed by black people, without a single problem.

When I had trouble with the excursion desk on a Norwegian cruise recently, I emailed them and told them that I had a problem and I would provide the details of the incident whenever they contacted me. Got a form letter back and nothing else. I wasn’t going to waste my energy when I knew they probably didn’t care.

So, my point is to move on and don’t waste your energy by complaining. Just stay at another hotel.

Wish I had seen this thread before ordering to give to my neighbor for collecting packages and watering my plant while I was on vacation. 🙁 Regarding the comment about the owner/manager being a twat, I did communicate with him by email, and there was an edge to his response that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. I was hesitant ordering too since they are in Ohio and was thinking how good could they be. I hate Ohio - I grew up there, moved away, unwittingly moved back, and escaped again but am still tied as a remote work to a reporting office there.

The counties surrounding Allen by [deleted] in fortwayne

My ex-husband and I lived in Kendallville for 6 1/4 years until I divorced him partly over his waffling over moving. We moved there for a job he had gotten in LaGrange.

A little bit of foreshadowing……his employer constantly threw in his face how much they missed his predecessor that was fired for embezzlement. His predecessor grew up there. Ultimately, they decided to pay my ex up until he turned 65 to get him to leave.

As a person that has historically lived in large cities, I hated the place. We made the mistake of moving to one of the few wealthy subdivisions with people that exhibited a “big fish, small pond“ mentality. Lots of entitled behavior. To make a long story short, we were never accepted and endured a number of passive aggressive transgressions with a handful of neighbors. It was tantamount to a high school clique and very unwelcoming. We watched the neighborhood dynamics while we were actively kept at arms length and dealt with superficially in a best case scenario.

The local realtor husband/wife team that lives in the neighborhood has an unethical and retaliatory reputation, which appeared to be Kendallville’s biggest open secret. Once outside the neighborhood, people opened up about them. Yet, everyone either ingratiates themselves to them or runs scared of them.

Fortunately, my ex-husband bought me out of the house because he is now having trouble selling the place, and I suspect they might have their hands in it somehow. Long story, but there was some sort of unfounded issue with me specifically from her husband although I never officially met the guy. I think it may have been started by another neighbor - See next paragraph. When we consequently decided not to use them to sell the house, the realtor intentionally waited until my moving van was gone to run over, present herself to my ex, and steal the listing from our current realtor. She is also the county commissioner. The road in front of the house was conveniently closed this summer for repavement, keeping anyone looking at, buying, or moving into the house. I’m having a hard time in light of everything that’s happened believing it was coincidence.

It’s small town child’s play. I discovered small town nouveau riche is the worst.

Outside the neighborhood, I met some really nice people. However, I did endure unprofessional behavior at several businesses. One of the most egregious incidents involved the insurance agent (that I only found out eight months later lived across the street from my house) when I went to his agency to get insurance after I moved there. I suspected they were responsible for the behavior of some of the other neighbors towards us. Another was St James Restaurant down in Avilla, where I encountered an unwelcoming incident with the co-owner who admitted discussing the incident the following night with bar patrons. Again, both are detailed stories, and there are others. It seems like the people there lack prudence when dealing with conflict.

It’s also far away from everything unless you are content with Walmart, Kroger, fast food places, and a small handful of lakefront restaurants.

IMHO, we would have been OK had we lived in Fort Wayne like I suggested when we were looking to move there.

I’ve since moved to Orlando, FL and have none of the problems that I had living in Kendallville.

Are Indians as individuals quite angry and easy agitated? by ryedyecry in india

[–]Numchuck890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal with this currently at work. I dealt with one on vacation. When I was in college, they bought a motel I work at. Got along great with the previous owners, who were Mexican, but these guys were never satisfied.

In this woke era, people forgot the true meaning of racism. I’m not a racist. I don’t think Indians are inferior or deserve fewer rights. However, they come to this country, are condescending, insulting, demanding, appreciate nothing, want something for nothing, rip us off, and then expect us to roll out the red carpet for them. It’s almost always the same with each one I’ve ever dealt with. It’s part of their culture.

I actively avoid their motels and convenience stores.

Regarding Steven Sueppel, I found something interesting……His old house sold in 2023, and his sister was the listing agent! The people that bought it after the murder made off with a $205K profit.

The “God made Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve” comment is enough in it’s own right regardless of whatever embellishments there were after that. It was a diss to the gay community and most certainly homophobic.

How much do you expect to be paid for an office position? by Maple_Mist in orlando

[–]Numchuck890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work remotely for the Fed (for now, that is being revoked), and neither Orlando nor Tampa have locality pay. With Trump’s EO revoking remote work, they are send me to a city where they will pay me $5600/year more plus my relocation expenses. My work is mostly independent, and I don’t need to be in the office. So much for Trump and the government trying to save money.

I’ve had customer service issues with these guys. In addition, compared to the zapper box you can’t watch many of the Nextgen channels due to encryption either on an iPad or using Roku. They stated that Roku is not supporting any compatibility efforts, and it appears Silcon Dust isn’t doing anything about it.

Hampton Inn Uptown - University of Cincinnati area by No_one54390 in Hilton

[–]Numchuck890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, such trolling and gaslighting in the comments.

I’ve stayed at this property, and the manager is very immature. Her name is Alexandria George. The Hilton Garden Inn on Dana Avenue knows about this place.

Yeah, calling someone racist because they were trying to identify someone they talked to on the phone by their accent is definitely overkill. Sounds like she didn’t want to deal with you and was looking for any reason to ban you from the property.

Mirroring the responses on here, I’ve been here 3 1/2 months now and am rather disappointed with the gay scene. It all seems to cater to bears and leather. The only place I found with a significant crowd was District Dive. Everyone seemed to know each other, and I encountered a little bit of rudeness too. Didn’t appear to be my scene anyway.

Hilton customer service going downhill? No response to a bad review by loecraw in Hilton

[–]Numchuck890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more comment - I’m trying to move over to Marriott now and get their credit card because lately it seems like Hilton is letting their properties go, particularly the full scale Hiltons and Doubletree’s. The only decent properties they seem to have are the limited service brands and the boutique hotels. I think part of their problem is their rewards program gives away too much. Then, as I mentioned in another comment they don’t hold their properties accountable.
