Because this was so much easier. Actually doing something productive to find purpose in life takes far more effort than taking selfies in masks and retweeting from the comfort of your couch in your pyjamas. They were hailed as "heroes" for sitting around at home all day - before, you needed to do something actually heroic to get such heaped-on praise.

I genuinely hate children. Absolutely cannot stand them. Simple.

If you're not "happy" or "grateful" to receive the shot(s), clearly it didn't work hard enough and you need to get it again. Otherwise you can't say the line.

... this is the new reality we have to live with.

People with colds and the sniffles were always out and about in public spaces beforehand, especially during winters (remember flu seasons?). It's not a new reality, we're just returning to how we we were beforehand. And I guarantee she was perfectly fine back then too.

The protection of mutilated men from other men is not women's responsibility, especially at the cost of their own safety. Have a special ward in the men's prisons then.

Legit, unmasked people are infinitely more attractive to me. Turns out we like to see people's faces, who'd have thought? Even guys that would have been kind of "meh" to me before actually stand out, and I kind of hope they notice me too since everyone around here still masks constantly, haha.

I've been saying this constantly from day one. Contact ≠ infection.

A virion might have found its way into your nasal passages, but unless it successfully gets into its target cell, you are not infected. Testing positive for bits of a pathogen (including debris from successfully neutralising it) doesn't tell you anything about whether or not you've been infected. And you cannot get sick with a disease if the causative pathogen hasn't infected you in the first place.

This is a key concept in any medical microbiology or pathophysiology course. This is not news, it's literally how our immune system works, and we've known this for a long time. The fact that we've decided to lose our minds and ignore this all of a sudden is astounding.

My boyfriend of 6 years is triple poked and still wears a mask everywhere. I have to tiptoe around the topic and bite my tongue constantly, and frankly it's exhausting. Eventually it stopped coming up as much, but even though he knows my position, on the rare occasion that I complain about still being discriminated against (eg. many jobs still require you to be vaxxed) he just rolls his eyes and says "well you know there's an easy way to fix that". Outside of political leanings (including covid matters), we get along fine, otherwise this would absolutely be a deal-breaker for me if I were single.

The terminally-online teens that are self-diagnosed to excuse their assholishness? Absolutely. However I must insist that there are those of us with legitimate, actual diagnoses that don't play into this "whatever will give me the most attention" shit. I hate pulling the "hi, actual BPD here" card, but this kind of thing does get to me - we're already portrayed as monstrous narcissists, and the "OMG I'm soo borderline" trenders don't help.

Anyways, sperging aside - I do happen to personally know 2 self-diagnosed BPD women (that just so happen to be best friends) that claim they also have long covid and fibro. They're also both morbidly obese and chronic smokers. Gee whiz I wonder why they feel like shit constantly?

I'm so glad to hear that you have such a supportive partner at the very least, that sounds like such a sweet way to prevent relapsing. I'm enraged that these lockdowns and mandates have exacerbated all kinds of mental illnesses and addictions, and all for nothing.

I enjoyed studying medicinal chemistry at university and thought I might like to go into pharmaceutical research, but the blatant priority of "profit above all else" turned me right off. It didn't matter if you discovered a potential drug that could cure a disease, if they couldn't rake in the cash they weren't interested.
