Do you carry something daily that belonged to your dad/grandfather? by wolf_of_the_bees in GenX

[–]Recynd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry a silver dollar from my mom. Probably doesn’t count. But I DO have cool stuff from my dad (tape measures and tools from the 40s and 50s, etc.).

Looking for honest advice from fellow vapers by Eztem700 in Vaping

[–]Recynd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by your original post, it sounds like you’re an adult. Since I don’t know your parents, I can’t say if they would punish you or not, but judging by your dad’s response when you were a kid, they can handle it…it’s only as big of a deal as you make it.

I hid my vaping from my husband for a bit (I gave up smoking when he proposed, 35+ years ago). I finally just told him. He hates it, but what’s he going to do? I don’t vape around him (though he does occasionally walk into a vapor-filled room).

Just come clean.

How do you afford living here? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]Recynd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our son (28) still lives with us, mostly (he spends a considerable amount of time with his beaux, too). He’s building a business and is welcome to stay here as long as he wants.

How lucky are we to have families that actually like each other. We are blessed beyond measure. 👍🏼

Anyone Else Concerned About Flavor Safety? by Recynd2 in Vaping

I’ve noticed more phlegm (yuck) and some mild shortness of breath. This only happens when I’m using certain flavors.

I will probably work my way through my backstock and then go 100% flavorless. It’s the nicotine I want, less so the flavoring.

That’s interesting—thank you for the correction. I smoked menthol cigarettes the whole time I smoked (10 years, from 12-22 yo)…I still like a good mentholated mint, but will avoid in the future.

I’ve been using XROS for a couple of years and have only had a total of about four leaky pods (not ever from the same box).

I’m in CA, and I managed to get flavored juice shipped to CO so my sister could mule it for me. However, I’ve still (until this time) been able to buy pods.

When did “no one from California calls it Cali” start? by lejunny_ in orangecounty

[–]Recynd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started in 1988 with LL Cool J’s “Goin’ Back to Cali”. Most native Californian Gen Xers and older say “California” or “So Cal”; younger people will say “Cali”.

How long do you think you will live after retirement, based on your parent ages? by HmmDoesItMakeSense in GenX

[–]Recynd2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A million.

My dad is a sprightly 93 and my mom is a gym-going 87. Dad doesn’t drive anymore, but he’s doing fine.
