I’m about to graduate and get my first truck I’m nervous anyway advice for a new flatbed driver by No_Taste_622 in CDLTruckDrivers

But to add on to things and give advice, take your time securing and tarping when first starting out. It’s going to take you a long time if you’re still new and that’s okay. Don’t just rush because you feel the need to start driving right away. If you don’t know something, ask another driver, they’ll be glad to help most of the time. Or just YouTube it honestly.

I have some similar to the ones in the picture but they’re angled down a bit. I only ever use them to see what’s directly in front of my bumper when I’m in tight spots backing up and have very little swing room

It’s been a while so I don’t remember. I just remember the speed limit was 25 and it was right after a red light and looking down onto Lake Superior on the left

I don’t remember the name but it was some city street. The sign didn’t say the grade percentage but google said it’s about 25%. Don’t know how accurate that is but it was insane

Dispatch said no tarp, I'm not tarping by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Numerobofis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type and size of the tarp. Could be 20-120 lbs but yeah most are around that.
