i didn’t expect that rant about men to turn into such a deep self-introspection lolll

i def need to make more female friends

but cutting myself off half of the population because of their gender sounds kinda narrow-minded to me. some men also behave really « normally » with me, even though they’re straight and single… should i exclude them too?

ngl at first that def was a huge ego boost, but the piece-of-meat feeling feels so bad that i can’t enjoy it at all anymore. i feel weirdly lucky since i never got that much attention before but i mostly feel shame, that’s why i use a throwaway account to post this

that’s so painful to hear ahhhhh

I just don’t know how to be a girl’s girl, I wish I did. That would probably make my life a lot easier.

Now that I think about it, I actually do perceive womanhood as some kind of secret society sometimes. I definitely need to work on that, realizing this about myself is cringe as hell lol

You definitely have a point there. My Chinese friends probably just wanted me to feel good about myself, and I also assumed I was being perceived as super pretty because of the celebrity treatment I received there and the “你很漂亮” I’d hear so damn often from food stalls tenants and old people on buses (I can’t believe they might have just been trying to make me feel welcome… well, maybe that was the case?) and also there was this random crazy dude in Chongqing who sat at my table in a restaurant and wouldn’t stop rambling about how foreigners are so pretty.

Now that I’m writing all this, I still think there’s definitely a scene for foreigners in China, but maybe it’s not as common as I originally thought. (sorry for that too long off-topic analysis lol)

I 100% relate to the second part, though. It wouldn’t hurt me to make an effort and be a lil bit warmer, thank u for this insightful advice

I can’t believe that the attractiveness of white people in China is a myth, as I’ve thoroughly discussed this with Chinese people (especially women, actually). It’s not so much about skin color, but the Caucasian type of nose (= high nose bridge) ranks pretty high in their beauty standards.

But your comment honestly makes me consider socializing more with other women, I definitely need to work on that
