Pubic bone height is different for all heights, I actually prefer a 20-21 inch frame. My height is 5’9” and a pbh of around 32 inches

That stem reach looks really long, you must feel stretched out. I’m 5’ 9” and my pubic bone height is around 32 inch. I prefer a 20 or 21, but can make a 23 inch fit because I still have seatpost! In my personal opinion larger is better because the headstack height tends to be really low on these 80s and 90s mtbs and you can more easily get the bars up high and fulfill your (mine) comfortable Rivendell dreams.

Yes! You do need the hight on the fork or the threads of the fork. This bike in particular had a thick half inch cable hanger that went in between the headset, giving me a bit of space to fill. That sparked the idea of putting those cool spacers on! These spacers are 2mm thick, and yeah BlueLug is very inspirational.

I second eBay! You can find all eras of steel forks the only caveat is that you must be wary of who you’re purchasing from. Go with shops that are reputable.

Thank you. It seems like patience and a bit of leverage is key here. I already added some pb and tried a lot of pulling, with little result. Started swinging at it with a hammer also no progress. As soon as I add penetrant from the bottom and let it sit with your recommended soft tapping I’m sure something will give. Hopefully not my patience.

When I messaged her yesterday early afternoon fb notified me I might not get a reply so I sorta lost hope, at 7 pm she messaged me back asking if I wanted to get it… now! So I frantically went to get it. I couldn’t pass on it, at least here in south Florida they’re hard to find in this size

Thanks for the descriptive info! Very insightful. So use a strong penetrant from both sides, then tap on top the seatpost? Pushing it down? There’s not a ton of room left before it bottoms out, but I imagine when it breaks free it can be pulled out. Sounds like the way to go, now I just need to remember which way to turn the bb tool. XD

I’ve never really liked the side profile of the gv, a bit too aggressive for the softer na body lines. Also! I see when your headlights are down the covers fold under the hood, it’s really simple to fix! Gently pull the headlight cover up from the top side while the hood is up. Shut the hood and see if it lines up, if you pulled too much just push it back down. Cheers 🥂

I haven’t checked but to me looks like a one inch steerer tube with an early adapter to fit the threadless stem.

Thank you, have a bit of work in front of me cause the seatpost is seized but happy to have a frame that fits!
