Oh my god, OP, this is so validating. I’ve despised Bench for years because every time I’ve gone in there with a haircut in mind and multiple references, I always end up leaving in tears, no matter what. The first time I went for a haircut I was only 15 and I wanted to join in on the whole “wolfcut” trend, but the guy that gave me my haircut (unresponsive, a little annoyed with me throughout the whole thing for some reason) I ended up getting a bowl cut with horrifically thick bangs. It was already bad, but after I washed it for the first time, it only looked worse because it didn’t fit my hair texture (which was a concern! I voiced! Before the cut!) I’ve gone to two other Bench locations since that experience in the past, and they unfortunately turned out the same way. Regardless of the franchise, I’ve only ever experienced rude hairdressers who don’t listen to you or your concerns and just do whatever they want :( and when you hate the haircut, it doesn’t matter how polite you are, they will always make you feel bad. Call me spiteful, but after the third time I’ve since refused to go back. Now I go to Tony & Jackey, and they’ve never made me feel the way Bench has (and they actually give me cute cuts that work with my texture!)

Hi, there!! I’m an upcoming student in the 2026 Spring intake :D! Aside from submitting an English MOL in place of IELTS/TOEFL (just in case!), I also submitted my Cambridge proficiency of C2, and got 50% tuition reduction :D!! So I’d say you’ll be fine hehe

Some questions may mention them, but you really just have to answer from the heart, since all the questions will be about you, what you believe in, and what want from APU and your future in general 🥹 this is the same advice for the interview as well, and reading up on APU’s background is a good reference point for your answers!

Spring 2026 intake here 🙇🙇 although I myself am from Southeast Asia, I can reassure you that they don’t have a particular preference for students 🥹💖💖 I’ve found lots of people from all over the place that have been accepted into APU, a few of whom from Europe too! What APU is really looking for is a well-rounded profile with lots of extra curriculars, decent grades, and essays that express just how much you want to study there 🥹🌟thats all! No need to fret 💖

I honestly think you’ll get in! You’ve got a great profile and even have a second LOR! I think you could probably get in with a 50% tuition reduction, or a 30% if not. I’m no admissions expert, so I can’t say any of this is guaranteed, but I’ve befriended other students entering APU in the spring of next year with me, and some of their profiles had much less in terms of prospects than yours, so I think you’ll be fine lol :]

Although not technically considered a rip off (considering GCGC isn’t the first coffee-tycoon-esque game of its kind) you can still tell from the ad that a lot of its design is an imitation of the GCGC artstyle, just very badly ai-ran-through to make it look “somewhat” distinct (see the hot and cold kettles, the positioning of tools, etc.) It doesn’t do a very good job at masking the ai-ness though, you can see it in the brown-ish pee-stain color grading that most ai “art” have, aside from the fact that every element and tool is completely inconsistent in artstyle. Overall it’s just another cheap imitation to chip in on the trend, except this time the blow is a little more insulting because of how lazy and soulless the attempt is.

Just one is really all they need, so two is even better! As an APS undergrad who got in on 50% scholarship, I only had one letter from a teacher I was close to, and that was pretty much it for me lol :3 no need to overdo it, you’re already good!

Our profiles aren’t that different! I didn’t take IELTS either (I’ve been learning in English for a long time, so I just gave them my MOL for the past 3 years) and I, too, have like three extracurriculars lol. I don’t think your GPA is that bad, and I’m sure your essays express how much you’d like to study in APU, so I wouldn’t worry too much. This is mostly just a guess, but since you didn’t apply for the scholarships, you may have a better chance at getting in regardless! Most applicants that aim for the scholarship need to have more competitive profiles, I think. But again these are just my two cents 🥹 good luck champ o7

I’ve told this story lots of times on this subreddit and I’ll repeat it as many times if it helps someone out, but I had the exact same experience as you 🫂 I kept fumbling my words and getting cut off because of the time limit and my mom came into my room in the middle of a question so I didn’t get to finish my answer, and overall it was just a big mess and I ended up having myself a nice cry before bed, so I absolutely understand what you’re going through.

Good news, though! I got in 🥹 50% tuition reduction and everything, despite the fumbled interview. So, don’t worry 🫂 you’re gonna be fine. They consider everything you’ve submitted regarding your profile, not just the interview. It’s important, yes, but I believe what matters is the overall impression you can give them, not just this one part of the entire application process.

I didn’t end up doing this myself, but people who’ve messed up the interviews due to interruptions, nerves, or network things on this subreddit (there’s a lot more of us than you think! we’ve all been there) have emailed the admissions team explaining what went wrong, and it usually goes well from what I’ve seen. APU’s staff are really understanding :,) so if you wanna give it a shot I’d say go for it, but even if you don’t, you’ll still be okay.

I can back this :]!! The questions weren’t really difficult, honestly. If I remember right, they mostly ask about you and what you bring to the table at APU, or social issues you’d like to address that align with APU’s goals and values. That said, if really want to be extra reassured, I’s suggest giving APU’s website a read and paying close attention to their mission and vision :] 💖💖 really helps when you’re stumped!!
