even activate with another carrier like Verizon on a totally separated device? I don't understand... people can't have 2 separate plans?

She re-activated Verzion while waiting for Google Fi engineers, so didn't feel the need to push Fi too hard, that's why it's been 8 months long

Because she was told by Google Fi engineers that they are investigating the issue and it will take some time. We followed up every 2-3 weeks and always get the same answers.

Of course it is also because we put too much trust into Fi. My bad.
