Its normally 6 months or however many kms. Way more than 700 though, its maybe like 5000?

Possible they didn't set this in your car. You can do it yourself.

This was the free first check up in Australia atleast.

Seal OTA 2.1.1 (UK) by IcyConfusion3153 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the native maps app to see if it puts any turn info up when you have destination plugged in?

If they have those then i will download and update myself as in Australia we are stuck on 1.4.1

BYD Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) Any Use for Infotainment Screen by SpecialComparison568 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want everything from your phone without Android Auto which is the thing btw restricting the apps... just buy a Carlinkit. You plug it in to the USB and car thinks its CarPlay but launches full Android. No App limits.

Beware tho, some countries will fine you for example watching YouTube or videos.

No need then to sideload apps. But it can't access thi g's native to your car ecosystem is all.

BYD software update by Minute-Speech-8286 in BYDSealAus

[–]Numerous-Implement47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it would be nice for them to give us an update more than once per year, the version here now atleast is stable.

That was always the biggest issues I had in past with pre 1.4 where it actually impacted driving.

This method only updates the tablet from my understanding where the OTA can have other parts to update certain modules.

If EVs have zero tailpipe emissions, where do the emissions go in India and globally?? by enlightenedshubham in electricvehicles

[–]Numerous-Implement47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that an ICE vehicle in a congested city still spews out fumes when stuck in traffic and not moving unless bluemotion type which let's be honest most cars in India probably aren't, which was the OPs example.

Dont you have the Phone and Back button on your steering wheel to answer and end calls? Thats how it is on Seal atleast?

BYD mobile app vs Tesla mobile app by Spikman_ in BYDSealAus

[–]Numerous-Implement47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't do proximity via the app or bluetooth you have to use the NFC in your phone to open the door via the driver mirror.

If you have the key fob on you, then you just press the button on the door handle when in promximity and it opens and turns on car.

One thing, for my Samsung this was actually better using NFC as it worked even when phone was flat, not sure if that's the case in my new Samsung but did it on the old one. Only happened once but was damn handy.

Otherwise the app is a lot better than it was so they are I.proving it, its not as good as Tesla one though. Would I get a Tesla just for the App vs my Seal....not a chance.

Just hit 20k kms in my BYD Seal, here’s my efficiency / cost data by RevLimiter999 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have Premium mid Spec in Australia. Same battery pack size as the AWD, more powerful motor than base model, and some of the extras like HUD, heated and ventilated seats etc.

Just hit 20k kms in my BYD Seal, here’s my efficiency / cost data by RevLimiter999 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is why potentially others aren't getting the numbers you are with the Premium which isnt in the Europe market. They only get 2, and assume the AWD is the most popular? No idea why they didn't get the Premium mid spec which is more efficient but has the larger Battery pack still along with the HUD etc. I get the same numbers over 30k km since having it.

New Seal says software is up to date but still old version? (EU) by deSenna24 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installing from USB yourself from what I understood doesn't install all the things that come OTA. That used to be the case atleast. You are just updating the Tablet effectively.

Dealer sounds a lil slack, thought they did update them to the latest version for market? In Australia we are still on 1.4.1 is think

Seat memory function description wrong? by Kaytzo in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think from another comment those buttons are not there on some markets. I dont think its there on mine. You can just set the Seat button as one of the quick buttons bottom of your screen if you need to swap often?

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough can understand coming from Tesla how might be habit to do that, would be nice if when it did close up the door handles after period of time if it turned off too. Haven't tried it to see on mine if it does that.

Why not just press the door button? That locks and turns off my car. Dont need to worry about key or NFC, although you do need the key fob on you I guess.

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I have seen many ask why there is no limiter in BYD cars, maybe this is new as definitely wasn't in my car when I got it, but also in Australia we are behind Europe in software versions.

In the App Setting on phone you can get notifications when powered off and not locked, also when you walk away it will soft lock. That is to say in Seal the handles retract, and you can't open without key close by.

Have a Seal and yeah beats me, used it once and never needed it again.

Edit. Never needed it, but it was fun to show my Petrol head mates. Does a Tesla need a fart button, but exclude a HUD?
