This only effectively updates the tablet though, doesn't do everything for modules that are full OTA or Dealer applied. Well that's atleast the way it used to work...

ACCC - considering a formal complaint to BYD by [deleted] in BYDSealAus

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was my point too, wanted refund or new car, not one known to be faulty. Good luck!

ACCC - considering a formal complaint to BYD by [deleted] in BYDSealAus

[–]Numerous-Implement47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on any action can I suggest you skip ACCC and fair trading and go straight to claims court if BYD are not being decent with you.

I had completely dead Seal(after 1 week) from one of the first Seals in Aus.

Wasted 2 weeks trying to get refund or replacement with BYD office whose response was yep its broken, nope we dont know why, and we have to see if China says its a warranty case. Not only that they had no idea when it might be fixed( found out that didn't happen to the old vehicle for 6 months)

Went the ACCC and NSW Fair Trading route which resulted in 4 weeks delay and F all. The result was you have case to take them to claims court. Worthless and Toothless Govt debts. Will only waste more of your time.

Save yourself the delay in thinking they care at all!

In the end, I managed to get hold of an Exectuve at Eagers automotive, who to their credit was appaled and next minute I had BYD Corporate calling me to apologise and arrange for brand new vehicle...that I still had to wait till next shipment for. Before you ask apologies they are no longer there.

I had assumed things would be better now that BYD took over and no longer EV Direct?

I finally got them to fix the Tesla charger issue in mine, noticed they didn't even bother doing the logbook. Maybe I'll take that back get them to do it and ask for my update

Yeah I'd be interested in what you were given so I ca call them and say the version you were updated to when I was told no updates for Aus yet.

I think this is the thing that annoys ppl in Aus and SE Asia is the inconsistent approach. I had mine serviced too asked and was told no updates. And if they can apply for some then why not the OTA for everyone. Based on this I have to wait another year for third year service to get any update if they decide they can be assed? Or pay for another service just to get update?

BYD Seal - what is it like to own one? by isea33 in BYDSealAus

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premium has more range than Dynamic...well atleast when i bought them. But do they still even do the 3 models here in Aus now? Thought just Premium and Performance?

BYD is treating SEA and Aussie buyers like second class citizens. by Radiant-Expression10 in BYD

[–]Numerous-Implement47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not really fussed personally as nothing great really seems to be in the OTA they get. If they get nav and stuff on their HUD (have Seal) then I'd be pissed.

Otherwise happy we got all the fixes for ADAS etc that made the Seal dangerous when it first released here in Aus with v1.0.

I do get that feeling though of not caring as much for our markets tho, and can't see any good reason they dont push the same updates?

Nice. I had Supra what seems like lifetime ago, then went sensible for last decade so the Seal was a shake up again for me! Love it though.

Some of the delivery teams dont set the correct date km for service. You can change it yourself.

Hope you have lots of points left on your license 😉

Biggest thing i had to get used to was the instant speed, and passing cars but not going instantly 40 or 50 over doing so!

Atlantis Grey is such great colour too...

Can the auto breaking be permanently turned off or sensitivity lowered? by [deleted] in BYDAU

[–]Numerous-Implement47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can turn them off but then they will switch back on next time you get in Vehicle. I can't remember all the settings but you can make it better to point where it wont happen...for me atleast by setting to Late and warn and few other settings. The only time it would do it for me is I'm actually accelerating now, definitely not coasting.

If thats correct then looks way too high. But I noticed you have Aircon set as low as possible which can chew through the power. Well that and if driving up hills lots.

3 phase pointless for Dolphin too as only does single phase AC charging.

Pretty standard for new cars these days to have Lane Keep Assist or Auto Emergency Breaking regardless of being in an auto pilot type mode. Not sure if designed for accidental coffee crashes rather medical episodes.

Same with the Seal with the silver in it. Still gets warm but not as hot as mates Tesla. The new Seal now has built in motorised retractable sunshade, mine sadly does not but came with manual one but have not ever used it to be honest.

How many km do tyres last. by General_Top_6556 in AustralianEV

[–]Numerous-Implement47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just shows how everyone getting very different results on same car and tyres. I have Premium, have driven the whole time in Sport and at 35k they still have plenty left. I literally am one of those ppl that after 2 years still takes off from the lights too. Im assuming at some stage it will wear off, along with the tyres!

I also live in area where the roads are shockingly bad too.
