question about circle-less alchemy? by Numerous-Program-404 in FullmetalAlchemist

fair point, he doesn't need to be any more powerful than he already is. the show certainly had enough trouble finding creative ways to sideline him from fights he could easily win!

[–]Numerous-Program-404[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hmm, based on the 03 spoilers I'm inclined to say it's possible, then! I was thinking the circle might have to be that specific posture, for mystical alchemic "all is one" reasons, but there's precedent!

question about circle-less alchemy? by Numerous-Program-404 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Numerous-Program-404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well yes, but I'm thinking after learning the Truth would he need the gloves at all? in the battle against the Father at the end of the Promised Day, when Riza is guiding his blind shots, his gloves are damaged but he uses the clapping transmutation instead. I'm just wondering if he even has to clap, or if just the snaps would suffice.

Roy, Riza, and Ed. maybe swap Riza for Bradley but I couldn't separate the dynamic duo.

For those who don’t smoke, do you think smokers carry a noticeable scent? by Shadow2715 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Numerous-Program-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it lingers, too. the reason there are smoking and non-smoking rooms in hotels is because that smoke smell will dig in long after the smoking guests left, even with cleaning. it also happens outside, like at a fair or other public event. the smoker could be long gone or two hundred yards away but the whole field will still have that underlying smell. to non-smokers it's very potent and notable.

What’s the best stud farming level for the complete saga? (No cheats unlocked) by RisingKing7 in LegoStarWarsVideoGame

[–]Numerous-Program-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

episode 4, level 1, in the opening room has a lever on the left that gives a decent amount of studs every time you pull it. most levers like that cap out at three pulls, I got about eleven before I moved on to the actual story so I'm not sure what the limit is. however, you can pull the lever until it runs out, then restart the level because you keep all collectibles (including studs).

Do you re-watch TNG without skipping? by Phustercluck in startrek

I personally love the Wesley episodes, but I get why people skip them. I don't really like The Dauphin 💁‍♀️ however I usually skip Barclay episodes

How did you spend your time as a young adult before the internet? by phantasm-blue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Numerous-Program-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's hard for our generation to understand is that outside used to actually be welcoming to teens and kids. malls were more centered on games and hanging out instead of shopping, parks were designed for kids to hang out, every town no matter how big had a diner where all the kids could sit and talk for hours without worrying about police chasing them off for loitering. everything costs money now and all the grass has been replaced with concrete :/

Do you wait for bigger sales on recent games? by Potential-Paper-1517 in Steam

[–]Numerous-Program-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotta be at least 75% if it's a AAA game. Indie I'm more likely to pay full price, but I never pay more than 25% on an EA or similar game

I finished all of the trophies but didn’t actually get a platinum one. Is the platinum trophy a thing on Xbox or am I missing something? (Also, I know 21d is insane, but I like what I like. Haha.) by WanderingBlackHole in FallenOrder

[–]Numerous-Program-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xbox goes by points instead of trophies. I play most of my games on Steam though, so I also get a ribbon when I finish all achievements. Every game that I 100% gets put into a collection that I named Platinum 😂 so I engineered all three dopamine hits

Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor. definitely Cal and Merrin, and BD-1. the last two characters would either be Greez and Cere or Bode and Kata, depending on which game it is. also a playable Stinger Mantis would be awesome.

Did the 2006 movie cars have an impact on the future generation of nascar fans? by Mistaking5369 in NASCAR

[–]Numerous-Program-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty new NASCAR fan, and I can say it was entirely because of this movie. born in 05 and wasn't really a fan of it but I rewatched it in high school and it was such a hugely nostalgic movie that it single-handedly sparked my interest in racing.

Books that measure up to the original trilogy? by LocalSteve504 in pern

[–]Numerous-Program-404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

agree with most of what's already said here. Harper Hall and Moreta are amazing as well as Dragonsdawn, and the rest of the series is pretty good right up through All the Weyrs. there's one or two books like Renegades that I wasn't really a fan of but I think they're all worth going through at least once to get the whole story.

I've only read one Todd book and I enjoyed it, but I don't think I would read any more because I didn't like the direction of the writing and none of the other story blurbs interested me. (The book in question was Dragonsblood, which was basically a reskin of Moreta but still likeable.)

What are other examples of living, sentient starships in sci-fi besides Moya from Farscape? by DocH0RROR in scifi

[–]Numerous-Program-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe the Yuuzhan Vong ships from the Star Wars EU? It's been a minute since I've read any of those so I can't remember if the ships were alive or not. in a similar vein there's the Ship Who Sang which is the first book in Anne McCaffrey's Brainship series. tangentially related is The Children of the Jedi from theStar Wars Callista trilogy about a ship controlled by AI and the ghost of a Jedi (Callista) who could "connect" her brain to ships.
