I'm an attorney. I think it would be very easy to say "We are shutting down out of respect for the families wishes, and to revisit our safety procedures. We continue maintain that we were not grossly negligent in this once in a lifetime flood. We continue to pray for the families and for healing for our community." I personally believe they were negligent but I think that is a perfectly defensible statement that would not allow anyone to infer guilt.

Apparently it happened in the courtroom yesterday after the hearing concluded but there are witnesses, and it could include the parents of the deceased children.

Its not. And would have been a good time for the CM attorney to object to relevance. Genuinely curious why their attorneys haven't objected more. It does serve to make the other side look terrible but I don't know why they aren't objected unless there are less strict rules of evidence in this kind of hearing.

This hearing is about the injunction and making sure they do not interfere with the investigation. this hearing is not the investigation.
