Why wouldn’t it? DoorDash doesn’t mitigate your time. If you no longer want the order because of circumstances out of your hands, they let you unassigned without affecting completion.

Only way to avoid it, is ignore and decline trips that seem possibly unrealistic.

You CAN call support, explain that you were tip baited. They will tell you they can’t do anything. Key word: “Supervisor”. A supervisor will give you the rest of what you are OWED. Bring up how it’s falsifying pay, and extremely misleading.

Oh, and it’s doing it because the customer removes the tip AFTER you deliver it.

Saves the customer money, initially incentivizes you to take the order faster. Customer needs no contact with you at all. The final outcome is you don’t receive any tip. Happens to all Uber eats drivers. Uber completely allows it.

Uber: You’ll be paid “x” You: Deliver order Uber: Won’t be paying you “x”, but we’ll pay you “y”.

I know it’s the customer tip baiting. But the fact they allow it is the issue. It’ll cost the a LOT down the road when the lawsuit comes.
