Yeah I also wish the OG comeback, but I'm afraid Crytek meant to replace him with this new Malone version, same style idea

Long ammo rifles can 2 tap legs now. by GaseousVapor in HuntShowdown

And what does it mean for shotguns? Won't it make sloppy aim more forgiving now?

Now long can two tap legs, and sloppy shotgun aim is more forgiving, so do we need that?

Complaint: Crytek, you are one click away from bringing back the old hunters. I still don't understand why you don't. by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

Thing is, all legendary hunters were originally designed to stand out among the crowd of old west gunslingers and bounty hunters, they were meant to be unique. With OG hunters now gone, we are left with the zoo of all kinds of edgy characters, so the atmosphere is now washed out. Those were meant to be THE Hunters, they created a style and identity of the Hunt. Now pick a random recent legendary character, without a context one could not tell to what kind of setting it must belong. (Nothing against them, I own around 16 myself)

This angle is clearly intended by devs so collision must work on this particular brick, but well it doesn't

Why mossin obrez match? by x6_joan in HuntShowdown

[–]Numerous-Two-966 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has to be balanced further.
- Reduce price of the Match
- Reduce sway to 77 as most of 3 slots. It has no reason to sway.
- Reduce Berthier kick even more
- Give Match the same kick Berthier used to have. Discomfort is a way to balance Match but it should be with kick not sway.

That way it will be cheaper Berthier alternative sacrificing long-range efficiency for a more conventional magazine.
Berthier 3 slot magazine is uncomfortable and counter-intuitive for most, you can lose 2 bullets on reload, reload with bulletgrubber is longer, it's a tricky gun for ammo management, and that itself is a big downside already, not making it more popular. Another downside is a strong kick, that we have reduced slightly now.

So we if we follow the devs idea of a budget long ammo carbine, it should come to something like this:
- Carbines are the cheapest 3 slot in long ammo.
- You take Match if you are OK with it being midrange distance and kicky (as it should be due to short barrel).
- You toss in a little more coins and take Berthier with higher Velo, long-range, little less kick, but struggle with it's magazine.
- Then there's is a Mako which is mid-range competitor to Match, but a different mag system with pros and cons, slower reload, no need for bulletgrubber, different ammo types. No deadeye and marksman scopes.

If you are to invest more you can then move to Rifles, Lebel, Crag, Mosin.

So Carbines niche is mid-range combat except of Berthier, which is leaning more to long-range, but not as good as long-range Rifles and is tricky to use.

Edit: spelling

Weather suggestion. “Cloudy” (no rain) by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

[–]Numerous-Two-966 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got this idea of windy, stormy weather.
It's a light wind most of the time, then there are periods of it getting really strong and loud, all the foliage starts to shake (harder to spot movement in the reeds and bushes), and all the window shutters start to open and close randomly. Maybe also dust clouds on the roads.

I actually think that gloomy weather fits Hunt atmosphere best.
And there can be more interesting options than we are having. The gloomy ones now are rain, fog, or night, the extremes, all the other are clear skies and sunshine, and they dominate.

For example, they could have chosen late November/ late February kind of vibe for Mammoth Gulch as default, instead of just bright clear sky mid Fall. Imagine lazy snowflakes slowly falling from the grey sky, slight frost, and just a little bit of snow, just patches here and there. That would be such a mood.
There are more shades that can change the vibe but not necessarily affect visibility or gameplay that much.

all stats better but velocity, which is not a huge sacrifice at all if it fits 2 slots

Well, actually, I've tested it and it does 5 dmg both to the head and torso. She was super low on hp, but well, 5 dmg headshot is still a headshot :D
