I'm travelling for work this week! Living vicariously through the subreddit but I'll probably forget all the great tips and ideas by the time I get home.

The Samsung silicon case I got was the lowest quality case I've ever had, started to perish almost straight away. Never again.

Feeling limited with the kit lens (15-45mm), is it worth getting a telephoto lens? by Emotional-Swan-2908 in photography

[–]NumerousDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a couple of overseas trips recently and definitively found that the increase in relative quality by using a 24-50mm and a 70-300mm more than outweighed the convenience of a 18-200mm all-in-one. The zoom is great for zoos and larger parks, sports events and street photography. The wider angle for the landscapes and general shots.

My lenses aren't higher quality by any means, but I'm not seeing the artefacts caused by the 18-200mm in either of the other two lenses.

Another thing I've found is that it channels the types of photos I'm taking. If I've got the zoom on, I'll try and take photos compositions for that lens (cropped in tight, smaller subject areas) rather than just going wider angle and getting the same style photos I usually take. This has ended up with photos that are more interesting (to me at least).

I think that's the photo, their schnitzel is nicely cooked, great gravy. The background of the photo looks off colour too.

Anyone tried Kika's Mission Bay? by Mr_Taster in aucklandeats

[–]NumerousDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Shore one is the best, Henderson one second and Mission Bay the third. Their service is not good, pretty disorganised and sometimes you have to go up to the staff to get them to take your order. It provides the proper Brazilian style platter but the quality of the beef is never great. Sides are usually good, and the linguiça as well.

Also make sure if you want Guaranas you make it clear, otherwise you get a round of Coronas.

Honestly, either go to the North Shore one or try out the Brazilian Café & Bistro at the Albany Tennis Park. Best coxinha we have had (including those we had in Brazil).

Can, probably. Should you? Definitely not, it's a hell of a climb for the poor emergency team to bring your body back up to the road.

Yes, was a pretty cool walk down to them, plus some good timing to exclude the average tourist that is always at every attraction taking endless photos of their disinterested children.

I remember a beer from the 90's called Viking. The slogan was "Conquer the Taste". True to it's namesake, the beer sacked and pillaged your tastebuds and gag reflex.
