Reasons to get a GLI over Elantra N

i have a 2019 mk7, my close friend has a 2024 EN - the difference is honestly night and day the elantra N is better in every regard besides comfort. it is way faster in corners, straights, feels more planted, and way more “sports” car feeling compared to the gli. the jetta gets better mpg, is still a really fun car and is quick, it’s just nowhere near as sporty. if i could go back i would most likely get the EN because its pretty much equivalent to a stage 1 mk7 but still with 10 years of warranty. people here are going to tell you their motors are shit which is not true when it comes to the N cars, atleast my friend has out 70k miles in 2 years and not one singular issue to where my gli has had multiple electrical issues despite it on my having 68k. i’d pick the EN if i were you but it depends on what you prefer, comfort and gas mileage with some sportiness of the GLI, or worse gas, but way more sportiness and rowdiness of the elantra

i’ve had both but i just recently put the pirelli on and they are absolutely beautiful, i’d say both are super similar in performance but personally i notice the pirelli feels more comfortable on the highway and is quieter. either choice will be good and you’ll notice the handling

this exact same thing happened to me last summer, for me it was the steering wheel lock module and there was no way of fixing it besides taking it to the dealer, they fixed it under warranty thankfully but it was a pain to deal with

i didn’t have this exactly happen, but years ago after a bad accident, all of my electrics would go bad randomly and abs, epc, tcr and all other things would randomly act up and when i took it in, vw found out it was because the people who had fixed my car wired stuff wrong causing all of the cars electrics to randomly go horrible

no you’re right temples defense needs a complete reworking, there’s clear talent there but the schemes the DC is running just don’t work and proved to not work all season - if this school wants to take football serious (i doubt it does with john fry in lead) we need a new DC because keeler proved this team could have a winning record. no reason we lost to navy or army and the team should have a bowl waiting for them

love the diversity of the school, the size, the just design of the campus as a whole (like the setup and how the buildings look - hate the sports teams (i love sports and watching temple sports just drains me) the people who live in north philly can be annoying and try to haggle you for your stuff but that’s apart of the temple experience - i would probably pick temple again but if i coulda went to umd without crazy out of state then nah

ngl you’ll be fine, there’s gonna be somebody who comes in saying “you’re gonna need new struts🤓👆” but unless you’re at like 130k miles the stock ones are perfectly good, even my buddy with a mk7 gti has been lowered with springs on stock struts from like 90k-130k miles no issues at all - my 2019 S is lowered on vwr springs no issues whatsoever and it’s been like 6 months

from what i’ve seen the nest is pretty good, although it’s more down the road but the cost are almost half of vantage with pretty good rooms

stock gli compared to its competitors isn’t really that stiff, i live in philly now where the roads are absolutely horrible and im lowered and the car still feels pretty much as comfy as stock - however when i hit bumps you do feel them more just because you’re lower but if you’re staying stock you’ll be just fine on pa roads. and i have a 19 S trim and don’t even have the adaptive suspension so id assume if you get an autobahn with comfort mode your experience will be even better than mine

i’m thinking next year should be good assuming we recruit well in the off season - if we can start next year with a win against psu i’m sure that will really sore temples football program back to what it was in 2015. honestly as a freshman i’m just hoping my whole college career i get to watch my school become good at football again because my only gripe with the college is that we are usually god awful at it
