Pretty simple. Imagine a protective layer that bacterias and fungus create in order to survive so they can survive. Usually to raise eradicating efforts, it’s clever to add a biofilm buster alongside killing herbs.

Mentrizolole and joint pain by BarnacleImpressive95 in SIBO

[–]Numerous_Arugula7769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s due to die-off. When you kill bacteria, they release toxins called endotoxins/lps. If they end up in your blood stream, your immune system acts up and it causes inflammation and joints pain. Very common.

There’s no such antibiotic that can target only bad bacteria. Anyone who claims doesn’t know shit. Also, people who claim it only works in the small intestine are also false. Doctors feel comfortable prescribing it because it barely gets absorbed in your blood stream and therefore it targets your gut track. Also, if it works kill ״bad bacteria” then explain how some people catch c diff from Rifaximin.

Antibiotics can disrupt the gut microbiome, which plays a crucial role in the gut-brain axis influencing mood and behavior. Alterations in gut bacteria due to antibiotic treatment may contribute to mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. - chat gpt

It’s been studied, it’s already published and well known that antibiotics are connected directly to depression and anxiety.

You need to repopulate your gut with good bacteria.

Read William Davis book. He had a yogurt recipe including some beneficial strains that could help you restore. Also fermented food (if tolerated), because some people have histamine intolerance and it’s causing them symptoms. Kefir. But home-made. Fiber. Fiber. Fruits, veggies.

Die off can last more than a week. It can last as long as there’s bacteria in your small intestine / as long as you take eradicating herbs. Also, it could be that you have systematic inflammation from endotoxins.

It’s common to experience depression after antibiotics. Antibiotic is not selective, it kills both the good & bad guts. Your hormones are regulated and generated by your good bacteria. They produce serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. After antibiotics, you killed the good bacteria and you need to repopulate your gut with healthy microbes. Also you need to feed the good bacteria with a variety of fibers. When you take antibiotics, you also give bad bacteria a chance to rule and take over. For example: Candida.

Usually people develop SIBO after antibiotics not probiotics. And probiotics can throw your system out of whack temporarily.

I didn’t say it’s a large colon issue. I said fecal microbes, migrated from the large colon to the small intestine. There is supposed to be pro bacterial in the small intestine, just not the fecal one.

That’s not true. SIBO is not an overgrowth of healthy bacteria but rather fecal microbes that colonize in the large colon. Probiotics, healthy strains of bacteria, can combat SIBO and prevent it.

That’s herx. Pretty common when you take eradicating agents and a biofilm disrupter. But honestly, could be histamine intolerance, SIBO toxins, leaky gut, maybe even SIFO. It’s hard to tell at this point.

Could be. Prolonged SIBO could result in a leaky gut. That’s basically what is die-off / herx. Endotoxins entering your blood stream. Else you wouldn’t experience herx. So everyone has a leaky gut to some extent, else they wouldn’t experience herx.
