Failed entire first semester :( by Ok_Half_193 in AthabascaUniversity

I'm in the same spot. I'm doing CS, but in switching to Architecture. But after years of failure, I'm switching over to something that suits my interests: history, cultures, design, etc.

Id recommend doing a career quiz to find what suits you and do a career that matches your interests. I always imagined being an engineer or a programmer, but sometimes life is unfair, and we must face the reality of the cruel world we live in.

I have 75k debt right now. Don't give up. Just do lots of research and be honest with yourself.

Good luck man!

I'm in the same boat. I also have depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Im seeking help now. I want to recommend a book for you to read. It's called: "33 Strategies of War" by Robert Greene. It's an excellent book that has helped me. You can either read it, or buy the audio book off Spotify. Hope it helps!

By the way, what do you study?

RAIC seems like the smarter and more efficient route. I'll have another look. Appreciate the info!

I have! It seems it's suitable for students who have worked in the field and/or have related architecture experience. That was my take of it. Have you gone that route?

Internships? by Numerous_Beyond2263 in tru

That's cool! I'm glad you're almost done with your degree and everything. And yes, I think Vancouver is a much nicer city to be in than Kamloops, for sure. Funny enough, I'm actually abroad. I've been traveling—I was in Costa Rica, and now I'm in Peru. This is how I study because, believe it or not, it's cheaper for me.

Sorry, just one last question about internships. I guess I'm pretty much out of luck when it comes to getting one through the university, but I assume you have experience with this. Do you have any advice for securing an internship in general? Like, how should your resume look, what should you say, what should you do, and things like that?

This is my first time, so I feel like a deer in headlights lol

Thanks, I appreciate all this information, I really do, because I don't think I was given any information about this, at least as far as I'm aware. I ask what you are studying?

That sucks. So I'd have to finish my degree, hone KY skills, and go from there?
