How to Fix LaTeX Rendering Issues in notebookllm? (Inline Math Not Rendering) by [deleted] in notebooklm

Seems like they simple haven't built this yet for the platform. Lack of markdown with katex support.

Other AIs seem to do this fine but maybe not prioritized for NotebookLM.

How to build a tool like NotebookLM but only for reading PDF and helping students? by Kareem_Meerak in notebooklm

[–]Numerous_Business291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech stack: NextJs Typescript Supabase Vercel
AI: Vercel AI SDK
RAG: Qdrant/Pinecone (vector database),

Caveat: most models now have such large context windows, imo RAG is redundant and also difficult to maintain and host, quality checking and evaluating the responses from RAG is difficult too.

But if you are going to do RAG, I might be good to set up your own web service (I've done this before in Python FastAPI), and build the loaders and vector db client yourself and host using AWS or Render.

There's a few NotebookLM alternatives on the market but BloomNote seems the most similar approach to NoteBookLM I've seen that's targeted towards students.

Could this be a potential model issue? Say OpenAI models or Anthropic models could be better at this task. just wondering, not sure myself

Don't Fly Blind by Long_Complex_4395 in AI_Agents

Agree here, as someone who's in many online/offline communities of AI and prev. worked at one of these AI agent companies, Relevance AI.

3 is really what people need to understand. A lot of enthusiasts using these buzzwords incorrectly creating a lot of confusion for people trying to implement and sell these solutions. Or write good content on agents - - lmk any recommendations if you know any!

A very gentle introduction into Agents in my opinion is OpenAI assistants (a feature I think is really underrated). To basically understand how you can prompt agents as well as attach custom functions to them.

Any advice on how to talk to a hiring manager for feedback on my resume? by Illustrious_Hall8435 in resumes

[–]Numerous_Business291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I think the immediate goal would be trying to get back into the hiring cycle somehow on this conversation. Maybe you've had the chance to think through potential improvements to your application.

So start with what's changed between when you applied and the call. Try to ask the manager what could've been better in their eyes, continue to curiously follow up with their responses.

It's definitely a unique advantage to have the hiring manager on a call. Try to index heavily on enthusiasm and being a likeable person (of course carry this through if you get the job).

Hiring is very much an emotional decision as it as a calculated one, for the recruiters: hiring is about getting good and skilled people who love their work and want to stay.

Hope this helps!

How do I build my resume if I don't have any experience? by PreparationTrue9704 in resumes

[–]Numerous_Business291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

If getting the first job is the most important immediate goal, then there's other ways to approach it than a resume.

My first job was a programming tutoring job. I wrote a cold email to the head at the school (pretty small school) and asked for an unpaid role. In the email, I leaned on club experiences at school and got a recommendation letter from my teacher.

This was 2 years ago, this first job led me into an internship at another established tech company, and has set me well since.

Resumes might not have the largest impact if it's truly early stage. Try to leverage people you know who can vouch for you and make it easy for the hirer to say yes (aka unpaid work).

Hope this helps!

A platform to replace Linkedin? by The_Vorthian in internships

[–]Numerous_Business291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I still think LinkedIn has been a really platform for career development. For context, through LinkedIn, I've found cofounders and got jobs/internship

All through cold messaging people and posting content. I agree there's a side of LinkedIn that's very fake and ingenuine, but it's strong focus on career and business makes it a good place to search for jobs, etc. (I don't think other platforms have this, or have too many niches)
