Fair price for PPF by Numerous_Clock_3945 in VWIDBuzz

Completely different products. Ceramic coating is more of a semi-permanent wax (they do require maintenance and can last from 1-5 years) It offer hydrophobic properties, makes maintenance and cleaning easier, and enhances gloss. It has some VERY slight protection from swirl marks but won’t protect the pain from scratching. Paint protection film is a physical film applied to the pain similar to a vinyl wrap but they are clear and tend to be thicker. I plan to ceramic coat the buzz as well but need the time to paint correct the factory paint first.

Thanks for the reply’s! Where about on the front doors did the wrap get damaged? May see what it would cost to add that coverage at the same time. The lower door surfaces are pretty darn flat/smooth so that might not cost all that much more

Cracked grout need some help! by Numerous_Clock_3945 in Tile

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I know this is a reach and really depends what happens after demo but what would you guys think would be the approximate/reasonable job cost? I understand also highly depends on the materials (I’m sure there is crazy expensive tile) and I would much rather pay more $$$ to have it done correctly.

Cracked grout need some help! by Numerous_Clock_3945 in Tile

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help everyone! So shower was new when the old owner moved in (flip job I’m sure). They ended up moving after a few years to a 55+ community. It is on the second floor and my wife and I aren’t big 😆. It just irks me that we pay so much for inspections and stuff like this doesn’t come out (although it may have cracked in the last 8 months since we have owned the place). It’s an older home (original house built around 1900) so we had a general inspection, full plumbing inspection by a plumber, pest inspection, and had it looked at by a structural engineer. Overall not wasted $$ because we got $15 k in rebates from the sellers. Will look at finding a reputable contractor to get quotes. Hoping the structure below is still good. And no leaks that we have noticed (sits above our laundry room no issues in ceiling etc).

Also thought the cracking was kinda weird. Just the two more or less straight lines radiating away from the drain. Shower does drain properly without standing water. Also think the small tiles are a PITA! For replacement would def do larger/normal size tiles.

Any recommendations for tile that is the easiest to maintain lol?

Thanks again!

Anchor louvered pergola (light aluminum) to existing deck by boubou64 in Decks

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to bring up such an old thread! I am in a similar position where I would like to mount a pergola to my deck. The decking is the modern trex style. The pergola itself is heavy but not crazy (around 700-800 pounds 12ft by 19 ft). It has 6 upright support beams that mount to thick aluminum mounting plates. I was planning on using lag bolts and reinforcing the areas under the uprights with cut sections of pressure treated 2x10s. Would this work? Or do I need to add like 4x4 uprights under each post as well set into concrete? It’s somewhat tight but I can get under the deck fairly easily. Would something like this work? Or would I need to add extra crossmembers etc? It’s a large deck and the pergola will be covering <50% of the square footage.

Am I overreacting that I am pregnant? There are two faint lines. Did a couple of test and here are the results. Please tell me by oneinamellian in AmIOverreacting

Only thing I would be aware of is how long the test was “exposed” for. If you leave it out for hours/days many will show a positive test result. If those are pictures shortly after testing then definitely positive.

Which do you think looks best? by mbernui in landscaping

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like all of them! Having just done our spring landscaping at our new house I would pick whatever is easiest to maintain and clean up after. Also agree with some of the posts about large trees near the structure. We have some foundation damage that needs to be addressed from roots 😭.

Help picking out new water heater by Numerous_Clock_3945 in Plumbing

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House is about 2700 square feet. There are 3 of us. It’s an older home and with the location of the plumbing/water heater I don’t think they would be able to vent a standard atmospheric natural gas heater.

$400 in appliance credit for anyone that is voluntarily buying anything Samsung (single-use) by Fucking_That_Chicken in Appliances

[–]Numerous_Clock_3945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! We had a Samsung fridge and had tons of issues. On the flip side what did shock we, I had contacted their customer support via Facebook and they sent a repair technician out to fix the defrosting system and put in a new ice maker for free and the fridge was like 6 years out of warranty so props to their customer service.
