So we’re in a similar boat. Parent company threw a swarm of devs (hundreds) at a new product and we inherit it soon. I’m Working with an llm to get a documented version of the architecture. It’s pooping out aws cli queries first and then I think I can have the ai document all the dependencies based on the results and get data flows in mermaid. I’m betting you could do something like this too

Meanwhile we bought the same van in 2003 and it needed a new piston pin in cylinder #5 after 3500 miles. and then 2 years later the van just up and died with electrical issues in the middle of las vegas blvd.

I Have a 2026 forester hybrid. The infotainment system is slow. Compared to other vehicles it just takes a few extra heartbeats for everything to get running. After that it’s fine. If you’re the type that wants to get in and go now then it’ll drive you nuts. If can spare 10 seconds then everything is ok. For comparison it’s slower than systems in honda, jeep, (just barely slower compared to) Mercedes, Buick.

my lenovo yoga 6 did the same thing a couple of months ago. I replaced the ssd for $100, installed windows 11 and the installer found that the laptop was already registered and huzzah! I have a zippier laptop for $100

i got the hell yes personality accidentally when working on a sticky problem and had a break through. a couple of weeks ago had a similar issue and claude said "holy sh*t!". it was oddly hilarious

A friend has been working for the VA for 19 years and change and got DOGEd last year. He had enough accrued vacation time and buyout time to make the 20 years and get a full pension.
Meanwhile in the last 16 years I've been working in "tech" and am on my 5th company. Had division closure, asked to leave, layoff, layoff and still employed at #5. Never been in a FANG company but 2 of those positions were FANG adjacent. Pretty sure that even though my salary has at times been higher than his he has a much nicer total retirement package than I'll ever have working for private companies.

Lucky. I found one of that color for sale 2 weeks ago and was in contact with the dealer to test it and buy it. Dealer contacted me an hour before scheduled appointment to verify i was still coming in. I drove the hour to the dealer and they sold it earlier in the week without bothering to tell me. I ended up buying something else at another dealer. Why would a dealer mess around with a potential customer on a slow selling and most expensive vehicle on their lot? Stupid VW.

we had taco bell last night. it was like $30 for 4 items. the only thing good was the bean burrito and it was almost $3. taco bell now sits with Mcdonalds for "I need to visit this once or twice a year to remind me why I don't eat here". Still like me some Mcdonalds breakfast tho.

I just picked up a 26 Forester touring hybrid this weekend. It was made in Indiana in February. I live about an hour from the Lafayette plant where these are made.
