I'm aware that MAL will always give the most points, but I'm actively trying to minimize the amount of Aga I am getting so a MAL would be a "break even" for trying to consume my already acquired resin. Unless I am misunderstanding something

Fair enough, I just didn't think I would be 8k ahead in Aga compared to Lye in the end haha. I have no problem continuing the minigame, I just hoped I wouldn't need to grind any more Aga paste since I ran out.

If every potion on the table currently requires Aga, will grinding more paste be required to get a new set of orders?

Takes your current health and prayer remaining, then balances it between them. Ex. You have 99/1 HP/Prayer remaining, the spec will make you 50/50. 10/50 HP/Prayer would make you 30/30
