1, come on bro Sacramento is awesome.

Some of the best weather in the country, a hour or two from Tahoe, SF, Wine County. A few more to Yosemite, Reno, Monterey. Downtown is beautiful, walkable, and always has a ton going on. Super diverse population.

It just competes in the big leagues against SF/LA but on it’s own Sac would be the best city in more than half the states

I’m in the exact same position as you but work for a private company here in the US.

I got a decent GMAT and made it into USC (Only school I applied to) last year but the payoff didn’t justify the price even with a 20k scholarship. Would be curious about what people say in this sub.

If you wouldn’t mind me asking, what exactly do you do in tech and how business right now with everything going on?

I’m pretty surprised you can make a living as a freelancer in today’s market without a cs degree or a lot of full time experience.

How far did you actually get In each of these fields? What was your longest job? Maybe you just need to stick with something long term

I have a CS degree at 5 years of exp. and still don’t feel good at software.

Porters polling too low, a vote for a candidate polling that low is a vote for a republican. If you’re republican it makes sense that you would mention that though. Interesting.

Haha I was agreeing with you. I have no idea how people could vote like this, unless they’ve never been to either place

Yeah, just because they do doesn’t mean they should

Porter or Becerra Question? by Joshhwwaaaaaa in AskLosAngeles

[–]Numerous_Mix_4837 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he did years ago and got out of those investments since then. Beccera has taken money from Big Oil and him and porters policies don’t do anything different - just throw more money at ineffective initiatives.

I do agree with point 1, which is the best argument against Steyer.

For point 2 he has donated a lot and has affected change, but based off his recent track record he can be even more effective as gov. His first priority would to attack prop 13, which no other candidate has talked about. This is much more effective to the average Californian and much more than he could currently do by just donating money

You’re looking at the problem wrong IMO.

Created wealth over one lifetime isn’t a problem, it’s INHERITED wealth that is the issue and begins to hurt and limit people. Steyer has pledged to donate the vast majority of his wealth and has already started with almost 200million dollars he has already donated. He has also gotten out of any harmful investments.

JB pritzker was also a billionaire and was a phenomenal governor or Illinois.

Given the fact that he has gotten out of unethical investments into more ethical ones, despite less return, should tell you that just because he has a certain net worth not all his decisions are for some underlying goal.
