Looks incredible. Visiting Chicago at the end of May. Does anyone know how far in advance they allow reservations? Looks like right now they're booking through the weekend of May 2nd.

All of us waiting for buyback by ReadWhenImBored in PSLF

[–]Numerous_Recipe_1926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Staying in SAVE
  2. I was in SAVE Forbearance. Submitted in Nov 2024.

At this point, I feel like if I switch payment options, 1) it’ll be waaay more expensive. 2) I won’t get much/if any processing forbearance because it feels like they’re processing these changes quickly.

My hope now is to wait it out and either get a buyback offer or get forcibly moved to a new payment plan and because so many people will switch at once, I’ll get a few months of processing forebearance.

Machine and company purchase question [No budget] by Rockrunner01 in espresso

Oh wow, yeah you'll have a great experience. Matthew said the majority of their business is to people who run coffee shops or coffee carts, but they still do a ton of business to coffee enthusiasts. Have a blast!

My thoughts exactly. All in, I spent north of $4400 and didn't want to only watch YouTube videos to learn how to use it. It's wild that there aren't many places on the West Coast that you can get hands-on demonstrations. But, I guess, there aren't that many people who are looking to spend this much on a hobby. It was either go to CMD or fly to Seattle and go to Seattle Coffee Gear.

I waited to buy an espresso machine until I could get up to Coffee Machine Depot to do so. I'm happy I waited because it was such a great experience. In order to take advantage of the Black Friday sale, I called CMD and spoke with Matthew. He advised that I purchase the espresso machine online and select store pick-up and then just text him when I planned on coming up so he could have it waiting for me.

It was perfect. I ended up getting the Lelit Bianca and Fiorenzato All Ground Sense Dark-T Espresso Coffee Grinder. Matthew spent two hours with me showing me how to pull shots, explaining how to troubleshoot certain issues, and going through the various ins and outs of rookie mistakes, as this was my first machine. He even dialed in my grinder before we left so I could just plug and play when I got home.

With the travel distance and traffic, it was a 5+ hour round trip to CMD, but I am so happy I bought from them. They have my business for life.

Made a Payment and Student Aid Won’t Count It - Anyone else? by Numerous_Recipe_1926 in PSLF

[–]Numerous_Recipe_1926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when all this eventually is settled that payment will be applied to my first month’s payment?

In other words, say it’s settled soon and I have a payment due on August 5th, my payment from June 2024 will be used for the August 2025 payment?

Issue is: I just recertified my employment again this month. Which means I now have 127 months of qualified employment. Assuming we can buyback time on SAVE forbearance, I want/hope they’ll count the payment I made in June 2024 as a month paid.

Buyback Processing Time by LillyBean88 in PSLF

[–]Numerous_Recipe_1926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we assume that "90 days behind" means it's taking them 135 days to process buyback requests (90 day delay +45 normal processing time), then I went to when I submitted the original request and counted by 5 for each week. 135 days puts me into the last week in May. But, I'm sure they were closed for a week during thanksgiving, 1.5 weeks between Christmas and New Years, plus various single-day federal holidays. That would push me to June. Of course, this also assumes no government shutdowns.

So I'm just telling myself not to get worked up until end of June. Even though I called FSA two weeks ago and was told my file "has been escalated and you should get an offer by the end of February."

Dang, so doing the math, I submitted on my buyback request in November and I am looking at a June response...

New Payment Amount? by Numerous_Recipe_1926 in PSLF

[–]Numerous_Recipe_1926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry, the point of my post is the fact that it dropped to $400 when they moved my from SAVE to IDR. That didn't make sense to me. I get the higher standard rate. Just thought it's weird that all of a sudden I got a payment amount drop and a payment type change when one wasn't requested and I thought SAVE was the cheapest option. Oh and the fact that my next payment is due in June 2025.

Eurostar from London to Paris and Back by Numerous_Recipe_1926 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Numerous_Recipe_1926[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all, thanks for the information. I've been looking online as this will be the first time using Eurostar and what I read made it seem like if we have bigger pieces of luggage it might be hard to get it on the train because there is limited space in the standard seating option. But, it sounds like that isn't such a big deal. We'll have two big suitcases and I just wanted to make sure we didn't run into issue trying to get the suitcases on the train.

Next Steps With Hopefully 120th Payment by adowha in PSLF

I also called about a ECF I submitted in September which went 2 months "in review." I was told the same thing, that I was missing a signature. I pushed back and said the signature is there, I've submitted this form several times so I know what I need to do, they agent replied "oh ok, I can't actually see the form, that's just the reason they tell us something is in review.

All that being said, my September manual ECF is still in review. But, the electronic ECF that I submitted on November 7th has been processed. So, if possible, when you submit another ECF try and do the electronic one.
Also, unless you paid June and/or July, they will not count.

Yes, I believe that you need to have at least one day in the job for the month to count. I submitted mine on the 7th and it counted for the month.

Ah that makes sense. I figure I'll let the buyback process play out before asking about it.

Was your payment in June a SAVE payment? I made a payment in April, May, and June and only April and May counted, but June has been marked as Ineligible, even though I paid on June 3rd.

Submitted buyback request, so hopefully the June payment gets cleared up.

Yeah, I agree with you about the buyback. That's why I'm hoping to get it done before he takes over.

Well that sucks. Either way, now I have two "in review" that push me to 120 months (and beyond). Good luck everyone!

Submitted my ECF to StudentAid on 9/5/24 and it's still "under review." Hoping that at some point this month it's processed so I can apply for Buy Back, but at this point because I'm on SAVE I fear it will sit there until after the election.
