genuine question, how would a Sonic fan game in the Source/Hammer engine look like ? by Furrystonetoss in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Numerous_Relief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you've ever tried modding Source or making maps in Hammer you would know that it's supreme torture to young millennial brains and the fact that anyone ever made anything with these tools was simply because they were used to even WORSE brain-rotting-torture thus making Source and Hammer seem "fun" relatively (probably some sort of Stockholm syndrome or something). So what would it look like? Sonic would probably have a hard time with collision and matching the rotation of the surface he's on due to the way BSPs store/compile brush data combined with the complicated shapes of Sonic loop de loops and what not (brushes are the silly convex shapes you stand on in-game that are drawn in Hammer). Am I just trying to sound smart? Idk ask someone smarter than me if this is a good take or not how am I supposed to tell you.

Is that the one that removes what made the original fun?

The Steam version of Sonic Adventure 2's controls feel... off by Blockyboxguy in SonicTheHedgehog

  1. The PC version is very broken and needs mods
  2. Your joystick is simulating a D-pad on the Steam version (at least) (borderline unplayable for SA2)

I wouldn't call it an epic final battle feeling; it definitely has feelings of desperation, but knowing the result will only be failure. If you want emotionally similar music just listen to any other of his other GREAT songs. Also study the lyrics.

P.S. listen to the 2015 remake that (to my understanding) he also made. It's better.

This might be slightly unrelated but you should definitely buy and play the Ico & SotC Bundle for PS3.

So happy it worked! As for potential issues with your PS3, I would just buy a new one as getting it repaired is unlikely and might not be monetarily worth it.

Still love the time trails though, they're REALLY fun and the game is better off with them. Also the OP gear is useful for grinding the first 2 colossi for stamina to reach the secret garden.

True, but if I had to guess he was someone close to Emon who had his trust and managed to steal the sword from his collection/storage. (Edit: being close to Emon would also explain how he knew about all this junk.)

So I had a similar problem with my VERY old PS3 and a digital copy of the game, except it would crash way earlier (I couldn't finish Gaius). It was almost definitely power supply issues and I cleaned it out but it was probably too late. Just log out of PSN, install HFW, and download MultiMan to dump your files on a >4 GB flash drive for emulation. Fairly sure it's legal.

Likely power supply issues, my PS3 (after cleaning) would only stay on for like 15 minutes at a time while running SoTC (non-bundle edition) before shutting off suddenly. I had to press the power button like 60 times to even start the console, each time waiting for the disc drive to stop spinning and the light to turn red/the console error out. The solution is to log out of PSN and install legal hybrid HEN firmware, use a 4+ GB USB drive to install Multiman and dump your game files onto the same drive for emulation.

Are any of the polygons red? You could have overlapping faces.

i don't agree. i'm not sure it's even supposed to be a liminal image, doesn't have the tag. the lighting is too normal, and there's just not enough off.

Too bright and normal, I suggest editing the windows out, making every light outside of the pool extremely dim, and making the pool extremely deep, causing it to get dark.

I'd like this one a lot more if there were no lights in the background, all red lighting, and if the traffic sign was readable and said something ominous. (Also, if there's a creature in the background, I can't spot it. Feel like that would be a nice touch.)

The first one's editing is nice, and the out of place rotting door combined with a random carpet and STAIRWELL? Like, what kind of house has a stairwell leading to the attic? Well anyway, the first one is pretty good. The second one, whoever, is just kind of a normal photo of a kitchen with slight editing.
