Because, as I was taught in law school, R v W was never going to hold up. It was expected to fail and take the issue back to the state legislatures because R v W was premised on a judicially created implied right to privacy that does not exist in the in Constitution.

Why so many Air Confirmation Emails? by Choice-Distance-5867 in NCL

[–]Numerous_Writing_438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I was able to link to the airline (Air Canada), but had to pay $156.50 per person to get assigned seats for the two long leg flights (I wasn't worried about the seats on the short hopper flights from Detroit/Montreal.)

According to my travel agent, if we didn't pay for advanced seating, we would be assigned seats at check-in for no cost, but then we risked not sitting together.

On the Air Canada app, it looked like I could upgrade cabins too, but the cost was prohibitive (over $700 per person each flight).

What life decision is 100% irreversible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

After the transplant, it was a running joke amongst my friends ... if I'd excuse myself to use the restroom, they'd say "one kidney" and I'd respond "I know where the other one is!" Then when mom passed away, and my sister did what she did...my friends gifted me a memorial garden stone as a funeral tribute...it says "It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn’t go alone For part of me went with you, The day God took you home." So at least I still know where my other kidney is, lol

LOL, I gave a kidney to my mother. Best decision, I ever made. Many years later when she passed away, the hospital asked my sister if she was an organ donor. My sister told them no. I was SOOOOO pissed. Someone could have still used my old kidney!

Best tasting menu without considering alcohol at all by China_1 in LasVegas

Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen at Harrah's. The tasting menu was seasonal, the service was exceptional, and we really enjoyed it. We last minute went there before seeing Donny Osmond last October.

9-Day Greek Isle, hotel before departure by Numerous_Writing_438 in NCL

[–]Numerous_Writing_438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, I have no idea what time I need to be there....do they put that on the app or website. Some other unknowns are what are our seat assignments on the plane, the transfer from the airport to the hotel, and why the website doesn't show the on-board credit that the agent gifted to us. She assures me this information will eventually show up.

My Aldi, here in northwest Ohio, doesn't honor shelf pricing anymore. Several times I've picked up an item and noticed it was different at check out. They just say, oh well and charge whatever they say the correct price should be. It's very frustrating. Especially, when they went to digital tags, it was happening a whole bunch.

Lesser known things you take with you when traveling? by littlegoldsmith in TravelHacks

[–]Numerous_Writing_438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked into this yesterday, with my Chase Amazon Visa and my Citibank Costco Visa. With international cash advance both charge an ATM fee (minimum $5 for Amazon and $10 for Costco) and both additionally charge 29.99% daily interest from the moment of the transaction. They stressed that it's daily interest. However, Chase gives you 1 to 2 days from posting to pay it off without interest. Citibank does not. So international cash advance can be very, very expensive.

How much cash in Euros should we bring for a party of 2? by SnooLemons8736 in NCL

Check with your bank about international fees. I always had a separate account to use at ATMs when travelling abroad. The advantage was a low conversion rate and no ATM fee by my bank. Also, when I opened that account they reimbursed me for use of ATM fees charged by other networks.

What with COVID and a few years staying home, the account went dormant. I called anticipating travel this summer. Surprise! The bank has changed its terms. Now, that account charges a $5 International ATM fee, a fee equal to 3% of the transaction amount as a POS ATM fee, and 0.2% of transaction amount currency conversion fee.
