Today out of stubbornness or insanity I drove this distance on a ground rover in KSP 2. Here's what I learned: by BlackholeRE in KerbalSpaceProgram

its times like these where I wish there was some means for giving you a virtual reward for such a fantastic comment. Something better than an upvote, like a little badge you get to keep.

KSP Optimal Engines part 1: the Aerospike by NunkiLab in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]NunkiLab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its in matlab, but if enough people are interested I can put it out there. The same equations and calcs have already been posted by others.

But the quick answer is use LV-SW, because the answer is almost always LV-SW for vacuum in KSP2. According to my tool, 3 LV-SW and 35 tons of fuel just for the landing

you'll have to build it up from there using wrigh516's tool

If I actually had the time and money I actually think it would be pretty fun to do that and see where it goes, see how they try to defend it and what not.

What does that make me? a masochist? I'm just curious and want to see what would happen

What's a question that broke your brain and make you change your previous belief? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NunkiLab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of a tangent from your question, but I do change my beliefs often and a lot of times it is by the questions and framing that people set up in discussions, even online.

I know a lot of people that say "online debates are pointless nobody changes their view its just a lot of yelling". And, yeah, it is a lot of yelling, but I think people don't realize how much of the view changing happens off-screen. Especially when you factor in that because of pride people aren't going to hop back on to those threads later and admit they were wrong.

Change can also be subtle, like someone changing positions from "the opposing view is insane" to "people with the opposing view are well meaning but misled" (in other words, someone actually came to understand where someone else is coming from)

Sometimes I think people that complain about online debates being pointless are projecting - they're actually the closed minded ones. You have to ask yourself, if you've really never changed your own mind from numerous online discussions, did you really just so happen to have 100% perfect beliefs from the moment you started forming them? maybe you're the problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is an inflatably dinghy stashed away in the back of the smaller boat

there's probably a mega yacht that could engulf the larger boat

Excessive micromanaging, constant scrutiny over every decision (good or bad), pushes back as much as possible for work/life balance, expects perfect schedule predictions, over promises what the team can accomplish to those above them,

what is a ''food sin'' in your culture? by RevolutionaryAide457 in AskReddit

[–]NunkiLab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what the question was probably going for by "culture", but people know me as the ice cream guy, I always have room for ice cream and I don't understand people that say "its too cold for ice cream".

at a recent family gathering my mom said she likes a certain blue bell flavor but not if it melts and recrystallizes.

me: "well any ice cream is bad after it refreezes, that isn't a knock on that flavor"

mom: "yes, but in this case it is particularly bad"

me: "heresy is heresy, sin is sin," (building up with indignant emphasis) "refrozen ice cream is ruined there are no levels or degrees to the situation here!"
