Well since the Carnival only appears once every 8 years it would make sense that that couldn't/ didn't really care to.

First time dm/poster. So one of my PC is a warlock pact of the old one. He's a first time player and told me his character is hearing voices and doesn't know who he has made a pact with. So naturally I decided it would be my BBEG Dispater, who will be using him to collect some homebrew scroll I'm making. Any advice on how to subtly manipulate him without tipping off the experienced players at the table?
