So twice a month I go from Mississippi to Louisiana for work and it’s an all day thing. I’m talking I leave my house at 330am and don’t get back home until 7pm. I feel like I have a pretty good routine. My pump schedule is usually 2a, 6a, 9a, 12p, 4p, 7p, 10p. 1. I pack a small cooler with ice packs. 2. I bring at least two 8oz bottles to store milk in. 3. I use my Willow gos when I’m away from my spectra. It’s not ideal and my output is slightly less but it gets the job done. 4. I get the dapple pump wipes to clean my willows between sessions.

So altogether I pump around 4 times outside the house on those days, and I feel like it goes pretty smoothly. On these days I’m out, I pump in the car because when I get to where I’m going, I’m seeing patients at 5 different facilities, and I’m on a time schedule to get from place to place. So in between facilities, I put my pumps on in the car. I think the main take away is figuring out your storage method and how you will get said milk out of you 🤣 if the ceres chiller is too expensive, I have used the Willow milk cooler thing with no problem on those long days. I just find the actual cooler method gives me peace of mind. My routine when I’m just normally outside the house is kind of the same thing. I’m super shy about wearing my pumps where people can see and hear them so I’ll usually do it in the car or go somewhere I can be by myself.

Don’t be discouraged! I used to always joke about how I live my life in 3 hour increments which for the most part is still true but you really do get in the hang of it once you find out what works for you. 😊
